Building a permissionless and enterprise-ready decentralized compute network requires optimized coordination across a massive group of distributed GPU suppliers. To solve this problem io.net, a decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) for high-performance GPU clusters, has joined forces with NovaNet, a decentralized zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) network, to enhance GPU verification.

The collaboration aims to launch a Zero Knowledge GPU Identification (zkGPU-ID) system to provide cryptographic verification of GPU resources, ensuring they are genuine and perform as claimed.

This partnership leverages NovaNet’s ZKP technology to build a protocol that confirms GPU specifications on the io.net platform. This cryptographic process provides transparency and security, guaranteeing that the GPU resources available through io.net meet the specified performance levels.

By using zero-knowledge proofs, io.net’s network of decentralized GPU suppliers will undergo a validation process, ensuring high reliability and security within the decentralized compute landscape.

Through zkGPU-ID, io.net will use NovaNet’s zkVM—a ZKP engine called the zkEngine—to validate the specifications and performance of GPUs on its platform. This process not only checks if GPU resources meet performance standards but also ensures that any attempts to alter or tamper with the verification process result in invalid proofs. This added layer of security protects users and creates trust in the network’s resources.

Tausif Ahmed, io.net’s VP of Business Development, remarked, “ With NovaNet’s zkGPU-ID, we can continuously validate and test our GPU network globally, ensuring that our customers receive trusted, reliable GPUs.”

Wyatt Benno, Co-Founder of NovaNet, highlighted that ZKPs must work across diverse devices. “Using NovaNet’s zkVM, we can securely identify GPUs, providing cryptographic proofs that are easy to verify,” he said.

As a result, this zkGPU-ID initiative will set a new benchmark for reliability and transparency in decentralized compute. With io.net and NovaNet’s combined expertise, the project aims to streamline secure access to decentralized GPU resources, making advanced computing more accessible and cost-effective.
