Altcoin inflows across major exchanges have surged as markets approach the CLARITY Act vote and the Federal Reserve’s policy decision. Analyst Darkfost reported that Binance’s seven-day average reached 31,800 transactions, up from 8,300 in July. The increase follows Bitcoin’s rally of more than 30% within several days.
Binance Leads the Rise in Altcoin Inflows
Darkfost identified two events that could bring volatility during the current week. The first is the U.S. Senate’s upcoming cloture vote on the CLARITY Act. Republicans recently updated the bill’s text while seeking enough support for its passage.
The vote is scheduled to begin tomorrow, according to the analyst. The second event is the Federal Open Market Committee meeting on Wednesday, September 16. The meeting will produce the Federal Reserve’s latest policy-rate decision.
Current projections place the odds of a rate hike at 92%. Meanwhile, altcoin inflow activity has increased across Binance, Coinbase, and Bybit.
Coinbase and Bybit Also Record Higher Activity
Binance’s seven-day average now is at 31,800 altcoin inflow transactions. The figure compares with 8,300 transactions in July, representing an increase of almost four times.
Coinbase has also recorded higher activity, with inflows rising from 2,200 to 4,700 transactions. Bybit’s inflow count has climbed to 2,700 transactions. According to Darkfost, the increase comes as traders prepare for the week’s scheduled events.
The analyst also linked the timing to Bitcoin’s sharp recent advance. However, Darkfost said the higher inflow activity could relate to selling pressure. The analyst added that selling pressure remains within normal levels but deserves attention.
Total 3 Adds $136B as Smaller Assets Weaken
Darkfost reported that Total 3 has grown by more than $136 billion during the period. Total 3 represents the combined market capitalization of altcoins. The increase may encourage traders to take quick profits while market conditions remain uncertain.
