Crypto analyst ChartNerd, widely followed for his technical analysis on social platforms, has shared a new perspective on XRP’s long-term price trajectory. In his latest post, ChartNerd claimed, “XRP is still going to zero,” while presenting a log-scale candlestick chart that covered the period from 2014 to a projected 2028. The chart depicts XRP trading beneath a sharply descending red trendline, with a white arrow signaling an anticipated steep decline.

Details behind the analysis

Although the chart appears bearish at first glance, careful review reveals that it is intentionally inverted: the price scale is flipped, with low values shown at the top and higher values at the bottom. This reversal alters the visual depiction of resistance and support. Specifically, what looks like a falling resistance line is, in fact, upward-oriented support. The red trendlines actually represent support zones rather than resistance, and the white downward arrow, when interpreted with the flipped scale, may point to increased price levels.

This is not the first time ChartNerd has used a flipped chart in his assessment. He previously referenced a similar approach in July, where an inverted price scale was used to analyze XRP’s patterns. The green arrows on the chart indicate instances in which XRP has tested these hidden support levels, rather than being rejected at resistance points.

ChartNerd’s chart demonstrates that XRP tested a trendline acting as support four times between 2013 and 2017 before a major breakout that saw its price climb from fractions of a cent to over $3 during that cycle.

On ChartNerd’s current chart, the historical trendline shows substantial support, highlighting how previous market cycles unfolded for XRP. The breakout in 2017, following four successful support tests, led to exponential gains over a short period.

Current pattern and future targets

A second trendline, beginning around 2019 and extending toward 2027, has emerged in the current chart. XRP has already tested this support five times, each time holding above the level. As of now, XRP trades near $1.37. The inverted chart’s white arrow projects toward the $7.50 region, suggesting this area as a potential next price target if the pattern persists.

While ChartNerd did not explicitly state a target price in this particular post, previous analyses have included projections as high as $27. The implied upside from current levels suggests a possible increase between 447.45% and 1,870.8%.

The current pattern on XRP’s chart mirrors its 2013–2017 cycle, with a larger number of support tests over a longer time frame, raising expectations that a significant breakout could occur between 2026 and 2027.

Outlook for XRP

The repetition of support tests and the lengthier accumulation phase are viewed by ChartNerd as potential signals of a larger, sustained move if and when XRP breaks out of the current pattern. The comparison to the earlier historical setup implies that history could rhyme, with the next phase materializing over the next two years.

As with all technical analysis in volatile markets such as cryptocurrency, these projections carry significant uncertainty. Traders and investors are advised to approach such models with caution and to conduct thorough research before making decisions.
