On Oct. 15, popular crypto analyst Ali Martinez said he has identified key buy signals for the cryptocurrency at the current price level of $1.317.

He drew the attention of the traders to a technical analysis indicator called TD Sequential that identifies potential price exhaustion and reversals.

In simple terms, the indicator tries to spot when an asset may have been moving in one direction for long enough that the trend is becoming tired.

Martinez said XRP has flashed a Sequential 13, followed by a TD 9 and an Aggressive 13. It means that selling pressure is losing momentum and a price rebound could be approaching.

The analyst said these signals suggest a local bottom may be forming. If buyers step in, he said he expected a rebound toward $1.40.

Martinez said he next anticipated XRP to meet resistance near $1.50.

Analyzing XRP price action

Like most cryptocurrencies, XRP has seen volatile price action in its long journey.

It was also at the center of a four-year-long lawsuit between Ripple Labs and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that aimed to decide whether XRP is a security or a commodity.

The suit, which began in December 2020, saw Judge Analisa Torres issue a landmark mixed ruling in July 2023. She found that XRP wasn't a security when sold to retail investors on public exchanges but qualified as a security when sold directly to institutional investors.

Though both parties appealed the ruling, the case ended with a settlement in August 2025.
