XRP is back in the spotlight after large holders scooped up more than $2 billion worth of the token in a matter of days, sparking fresh talk of a breakout among crypto analysts.

According to data shared by crypto analyst Ali Charts on X, whale wallets accumulated roughly 1.54 billion XRP, worth close to $2.2 billion, over a 96-hour stretch.

The sudden spike in large-holder activity is being read as a strong signal that smart money is positioning ahead of a bigger move.

In another post on X, he noted that demand already appears to be showing up in price, with XRP rallying 8.22% over the past three days.

Room to run before resistance

Beyond the accumulation data, on-chain metrics suggest the rally may not be done yet. Charts pointed to the URPD indicator, which shows relatively thin resistance for XRP until the $1.60 mark.

At that level, around 2.50 billion XRP previously changed hands, making it a key zone to watch for potential profit-taking before the next leg begins.

But on-chain data suggests there may still be room to run. The URPD shows relatively little resistance ahead until $1.60, where roughly 2.50 billion XRP previously changed hands. That’s the next major level I’m watching for potential profit-taking before looking for the next setup,” he wrote.

Veteran trader flags $5.40 target

Adding to the bullish narrative, legendary trader Peter Brandt shared his long-term XRP chart, which he says implies an eventual advance toward $5.40.

However, Brandt was quick to caution followers against mistaking chart analysis for financial advice. He stressed that a chart or a "call" is not a trade, and that traders claiming trades should be able to back it up with proof, not just a post on X.

This is my long-term chart of XRP. It implies an eventual advance to $5.40 A claim of a "call" or simple presentation of a chart is NOT a trade People who claim "trades" need to provide proof or else the claims are BS An X post is NOT proof,” Brandt wrote in the post on X.

With whale accumulation, technical setups and veteran commentary all pointing in the same direction, XRP appears to be building momentum.

Traders will likely watch the $1.60 level closely in the near term, while longer-term chart watchers keep an eye on Brandt's more ambitious target.
