From Vouchers to Tickets

Aptos is expanding its partnership with Daehong Communications, a subsidiary of South Korean retail conglomerate Lotte Group, into on-chain ticketing. The two companies plan to use blockchain to issue and manage tickets for concerts, exhibitions, and other cultural events, with the new system designed to provide verified ownership, real-time tracking, and protection against counterfeiting and illegal resale.

The move follows a productive run on the voucher side of the collaboration. The partnership between Daehong and Aptos was first announced in March 2024 with the goal of building a Web3 hub. The initial application centered on Giftiel, Daehong's mobile voucher platform. Since integrating the Aptos blockchain in July 2025, Giftiel has issued more than 5 million vouchers and reached more than 1.3 million users.

The broader initiative falls under what Aptos and Daehong are calling the "Money Movement" ecosystem, designed to handle digital assets like loyalty points, vouchers, and tickets with full on-chain transparency. The ticketing platform will record issuance data on-chain to prevent forgery and illegal resale, and will offer tickets across genres including musicals, plays, children's performances, leisure activities, and exhibitions.

No Wallets Required

One of the more notable aspects of the rollout is how the blockchain layer is kept out of sight. The system does not require consumers to set up crypto wallets or pay gas fees. From the end user's perspective, buying a ticket or redeeming a voucher feels like any other mobile transaction. That approach has already paid off on the voucher side, where the soft launch of the Giftiel blockchain integration attracted more than 500,000 users early on, demonstrating that blockchain can power real-world applications without requiring users to have deep technical knowledge of Web3.

Looking ahead, Daehong Communications and the Aptos Foundation plan to deepen their partnership by expanding the application of Aptos blockchain technology across Lotte's diverse business portfolio, with ambitions spanning digital vouchers, loyalty programs, payments, and cross-border value transfer.
