South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb (@BithumbOfficial) has added native Aptos ($APT) staking to its platform, giving users a straightforward way to earn rewards on their holdings directly through the exchange.

Bithumb Adds APT Staking With Launch Campaign

The move brings APT staking to one of South Korea's most prominent exchanges. Bithumb is listed in the Aptos ecosystem directory as a South Korean exchange offering spot trading, margin features, fiat support, and a wide asset selection, making it a natural fit for expanding into staking services.

To mark the launch, Bithumb is running a limited staking campaign. The exchange has outlined specific eligibility requirements and participation terms through its official channels. Users interested in joining the campaign are encouraged to review those conditions directly on the Bithumb platform before participating.

Why APT Staking Matters

Aptos is a Layer 1 proof-of-stake blockchain that launched in 2022. It was developed by Aptos Labs, a firm founded by former Meta engineers who worked on the now-defunct Diem project. The network has drawn growing institutional interest, with firms such as Franklin Templeton, BlackRock, and Bitwise building products on or around it. Bitwise launched the world's first Aptos staking ETP on the SIX Swiss Exchange in late 2024, targeting a yield of around 4.7% net of fees.

On the staking mechanics side, Aptos staking rewards originally followed a declining inflation schedule, starting at 7% at launch and decreasing 1.5% per year to a floor of 3.25%. Rewards are distributed roughly every two hours, with an unstaking period that can range from one to thirty days depending on the provider. In February 2026, the Aptos Foundation proposed a significant tokenomics overhaul, cutting staking returns from around 5.19% to 2.6% and introducing a hard supply cap of 2.1 billion APT.

The Bithumb integration gives Korean retail users access to staking rewards without needing to manage wallets or interact with validators directly, lowering the barrier to entry for participating in the Aptos network.
