BabyDoge has paused its cross-chain bridge following a security breach. In a statement, @BabyDoge said the attack was limited to the bridge and did not affect the $BABYDOGE token or its smart contract.
The team says it has contained the incident and has already bought back all affected funds. As a result, it says the bridge will be fully backed when it reopens. No loss figure or technical details of the attack were included in the update.
Bridging Stays Offline While a New Version Is Built
Bridging will remain unavailable while the team builds a more secure version of the bridge. Users whose transfers became stuck during the incident can file a recovery request through the official form provided by the project.
The team also issued a warning about impersonators, a common follow-on risk after a security incident. It said it will never message users first, ask for a seed phrase, or ask anyone to connect a wallet in order to receive a refund. Users should treat any such request as a scam and use only the project's official channels.
BabyDoge has not yet given a date for the bridge to return. Users with stuck transfers should check the project's official channels for updates on recovery requests.
