On October 30, 2026, Binance experienced what is now marked as the largest and most clever hack in crypto history. In a matter of hours, around $6 billion was attacked as Binance and stablecoin issuers went on to freeze assets to minimize losses. Now, in under 48 hours, Binance restores 90% of all stolen funds from the recent hack. The community stands by Binance and awaits withdrawals to open soon.

Binance Restores 90% of All Stolen Funds

Around 48 hours ago, the price of BTC fell as low as the $76,000 price range and now struggles to break back above the $77,000 price range. This sudden dip in crypto market prices was caused by a swift and sophisticated attack on the Binance crypto exchange, a move that was caused by one compromised laptop. This one vulnerability cost Binance around $6 billion in compromised funds.

As soon as the threat was detected, Binance worked alongside Tether and Circle to freeze around $3 billion in USDT and USDC respectively. This was then followed by a suspension of all deposits and withdrawals on the platform. The crypto community was surprised to see Binance take the hit, but were highly impressed with their swift response and their constant and continuous transparency and dedication to users.

In detail, the Binance team worked overtime to ensure to track the lost funds and make a deep inspection on the theft to offer a deeper report to its users and the community. They then worked with authorities to ensure that not only confirm that user assets were safe, but that Binance would use their SAFU funds alongside corporate assets to ensure that all funds are brought back and restored to their user.

As we can see from the post above, not even 48 hours later, Binance confirms that it has now refilled 90% of the $6.3 billion stolen assets. Additionally, their official notice says that the remaining 10% of the assets will soon be restored and Binance is working to buy them through OTC channels. This unshakable responsibility to their users and once again put Binance in the spotlight, displaying their capability and position as promising leaders int he space.

While deposits and trade options opened on Binance soon after the attack, withdrawals are yet to be open again, and Binance believes it will be before the new week begins. As the month of November begins, the price of BTC struggles to reclaim higher prices. Will the asset make a speedy recovery soon, thanks to Binance’s dedicated moves of their users? Or will an aftermath of the event lead to greater dips next?
