Faster On-Ramp for US Crypto Buyers
Binance US has added Apple Pay and Google Pay as funding options, letting customers buy cryptocurrency directly through their phone's digital wallet. The exchange announced on August 20 that it has integrated Apple Pay and Google Pay as funding options, letting users make instant USD deposits through their phone's digital wallet. Users can connect debit or credit cards already stored in Apple Pay or Google Pay, removing the need to manually enter card details or link a bank account each time.
The update means US customers can now tap their way into crypto positions using debit and credit cards linked to Apple Pay or Google Pay, skipping the multi-step process that traditionally involves linking a bank account and waiting for transfers to clear.
Where This Fits Against Existing Payment Methods
Before this update, Binance US users had two main ways to fund their accounts: ACH bank transfers and wire transfers, both offered with zero fees. Those options still exist, but they come with waiting periods before transfers clear. The new mobile wallet integration offers an instant alternative, though users should note that card-based purchases typically carry processing fees that ACH and wire transfers do not.
Apple Pay support is newly added to the platform. Google Pay, by contrast, is not entirely new. Binance US first rolled out limited Google Pay support for debit card deposits back in 2023. The latest update broadens and formalises that support alongside the Apple Pay launch.
The move aligns with a broader industry trend toward reducing friction in crypto onboarding. By supporting these widely adopted payment methods, Binance US aims to attract a more mainstream audience, particularly those who may have been hesitant to navigate traditional crypto payment rails.
