Binance Pauses $INJ Transfers to Support Chain Halt
@Binance will suspend all $INJ deposits and withdrawals starting September 24, 2026, at 14:00 UTC, aligning its infrastructure with Injective's Meridian mainnet upgrade. The chain is scheduled to halt at block height 184,394,000, expected around 15:00 UTC, before resuming on version 1.20.4 of the Injective Chain binary.
The governance proposal behind the upgrade, designated IIP-701, passed with roughly 99% approval among $INJ stakers, one of the highest approval rates in the network's history.
What the Meridian Upgrade Brings to Injective
Meridian introduces regulated token implementations to the Injective EVM, letting issuers embed compliance and transfer requirements directly into tokenized products. The upgrade also unifies RWA perpetual markets and launches initial private request-for-quote (RFQ) testing, designed to give institutional participants access to on-chain liquidity while protecting sensitive order information. A broader privacy suite, tied to the forthcoming CypherOS platform, is expected in a later release.
The upgrade is part of a deliberate sequencing by the Injective team. The Injective Mint tool launched in July 2026, providing token creation infrastructure. Injective Institutional Services then received SEC transfer agent registration in August 2026. Meridian now delivers the on-chain compliance rails to support compliant issuance of tokenized real-world assets and equities on the network.
$INJ trading on @Binance will remain unaffected during the suspension window. Users are advised to complete any time-sensitive transfers before the 14:00 UTC cutoff.
