Mishaboar, a well-known figure in the Dogecoin community, has issued a security advisory to Bitcoin holders after hardware wallet provider BitBox announced the discovery of two critical vulnerabilities in its device firmware. The matter was raised following BitBox’s official announcement about a new security patch aimed at addressing these issues.
BitBox, a Swiss hardware wallet manufacturer widely used by Bitcoin investors, confirmed during internal audits that multiple security flaws were present in its firmware. According to the company, one of the vulnerabilities could have allowed malicious parties to prompt users to install fraudulent firmware. An attacker exploiting this would have gained access to unlock devices and potentially drain users’ funds.
To counter the risk, BitBox released the Dixence update, which users can install through the BitBoxApp by accessing the settings menu. The company stressed the urgency for all users to update their BitBoxApp and device firmware without delay.
During its audits, BitBox identified bugs that attackers could have leveraged to gain unwarranted access, highlighting, “A severe exploit could have enabled attackers to manipulate users into installing malicious firmware, unlock their device, and steal their funds.”
BitBox has not included Dogecoin support on its devices, but Mishaboar emphasized that its popularity among Bitcoin holders makes security updates particularly relevant to that group.

He emphasized that individuals using BitBox should ensure their computer is free from malware when updating, and suggested, “If you have access to a fresh or new computer, this is even better.”
Crypto analyst Ali has reported that Dogecoin is currently experiencing its narrowest Bollinger Band squeeze since September 2023, a technical signal that often precedes sharp price movements due to built-up volatility.
Ali highlighted that last month, the Tom DeMark Sequential indicator displayed a buy signal on Dogecoin’s monthly chart, hinting at a potential reversal. This technical setup closely resembles an incident from August 2022, when Dogecoin showed a combination of an inverted hammer candlestick, a TD buy signal, and followed with a doji candle, which was then followed by a 145% monthly rally.
Currently, Dogecoin’s chart shows another inverted hammer, a TD buy, and a developing doji candle. Analysts will be watching to see if a significant upward move materializes during the next monthly candlestick, should the pattern repeat.
