Bitcoin Cash price prediction is under the spotlight after BCH pulled a classic trap on traders, breaking above a descending trendline only to reverse hard and sell off aggressively right after.

Fake breakouts like this tend to leave a mark on the chart, and the sharp drop that followed suggests sellers were more than ready to punish anyone who chased that initial move.

The question now is whether BCH stabilizes here or keeps sliding toward levels not tested in a while. Here is the full breakdown.

Bitcoin Cash Price Today: Live Data and 24-Hour Change

BCH is trading at $243.1 at the time of writing, down a sharp 7.04 percent, a drop of $18.422 over the past 24 hours.

Futures volume over the same period stands at $271.50 million while spot volume sits at $37.20 million, showing that derivatives are driving most of this move.

Market cap is holding at $4.89 billion, open interest is at $397.53 million, and circulating supply is 20.08 million BCH, already essentially matching the total supply of 20.08 million and closing in on the max supply of 21.00 million tokens.

BCH Liquidation Data and Market Positioning

Liquidation flow over the past day is almost entirely one-sided toward longs, which lines up with the aggressive drop following the fake breakout.BCH Liquidation Data

Over the last 24 hours, $1.28M in positions were liquidated, with $1.27M coming from longs against just $18.26K from shorts.

The 12-hour window shows $34.92K total rekt, $34.76K of that from longs versus a tiny $162.37 from shorts.

In the most recent 4-hour window, $14.48K was liquidated overall, and every bit of it came from longs, with shorts untouched, a clear sign that buyers who chased the initial breakout are the ones paying for it now.

Quick Take

  • CMP: $243.1 on the 4-hour Bybit perpetual chart

  • Bullish trigger: 4-hour close above $305.1 needed to confirm a real breakout this time

  • Bullish continuation level: $350.3, next major resistance

  • Bearish trigger: 4-hour close below $199.5

  • Bearish target on breakdown: $182.0

  • Data timestamp: August 29, 2026, 14:32 UTC+5:30

  • Risk note: BCH just produced a fake breakout and aggressive rejection, so any move back toward resistance deserves extra caution until it closes convincingly above it

Bitcoin Cash Technical Analysis August 2026

The 4-hour BCH/USDT perpetual chart on Bybit shows price recently pushing above a descending trendline it had been trading under for weeks, only for that move to fail almost immediately.Bitcoin cash technical forecast

What looked like a breakout turned into a fake breakout, and BCH reversed hard, falling aggressively back through several levels in a short span.

This kind of failed breakout often signals that sellers were waiting at that trendline specifically to trap late buyers, and the speed of the reversal here backs that up.

For bulls to get another shot at this trendline, BCH would need to close above $305.1 on the 4-hour chart, and this time with enough conviction to avoid repeating the same trap.

A genuine close beyond that level would open the path toward $350.3, the next major resistance on this Bitcoin Cash price forecast.

On the downside, if BCH continues lower and closes below $199.5 on the 4-hour timeframe, that would confirm the current selloff still has room to run. In that case, the next support to watch drops to $182.0.

Given how sharply $BCH reacted after the fake breakout, further downside pressure toward these lower levels would not be surprising in this Bitcoin Cash technical analysis.

Bull, Base, and Bear Case for BCH

In the bull case, $BCH stabilizes here, works its way back up, and closes above $305.1 with genuine conviction this time, opening a path toward $350. 3.

The base case has $BCH consolidating in the $199.5 to $255 zone for a while as the market digests the fake breakout and aggressive selloff before committing to a clear direction.

In the bear case, $BCH closes below $199.5, confirming the selloff is not done, and the price works its way toward a retest of $182.0.

Risks to This Bitcoin Cash Price Prediction

The biggest risk here is another failed move back toward resistance, since $BCH has already shown once that a breakout at this trendline can reverse violently.

Broader market volatility, sudden shifts in Bitcoin, or overall risk sentiment across crypto, and general altcoin weakness could all weigh on BCH regardless of what this chart alone suggests.

This analysis is based purely on current chart structure and available data, and conditions can change quickly.
