- Coinbase’s Bitcoin Premium turns positive for the first time since May, signaling stronger U.S. buying demand.
- U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs attract $3.51 billion in inflows, reaching their highest level since October 2025.
- A sustained Coinbase Premium and a break above $81,000 could confirm a stronger Bitcoin uptrend.
Bitcoin’s Coinbase Premium turns positive for the first time in five months as U.S. demand strengthens and spot Bitcoin ETF inflows recover.
U.S. BITCOIN DEMAND SHOWS SIGNS OF RECOVERY
Bitcoin has recently climbed back above $80,000, while the structure of market demand is also showing signs of change. Data shows that Bitcoin is once again trading at a higher price on U.S. crypto exchange Coinbase than on Binance, with the Coinbase Premium Index turning positive on Friday for the first time since May. The move suggests that buying demand from U.S. investors is beginning to strengthen.
According to CoinGlass, the Coinbase Premium measures the price difference between Bitcoin on Coinbase and Binance. The indicator turned positive after Bitcoin rebounded sharply from around $63,000 to above $80,000, while inflows into U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs also recovered significantly. Most of these ETFs use Coinbase for custody services, including BlackRock’s IBIT, the largest spot Bitcoin ETF by assets.

Data from SoSoValue shows that U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs have recently attracted approximately $3.51 billion in cumulative inflows, marking their highest level since October 2025. The renewed flow of capital into the U.S. market, combined with the recovery in the Coinbase Premium, suggests that U.S. investment demand is playing an increasingly important role in Bitcoin’s latest rebound.

COINBASE PREMIUM AND THE NEXT BITCOIN BREAKOUT
The Coinbase Premium is more than just a short-term price indicator. During previous Bitcoin bull markets, Bitcoin has often traded at a sustained premium on Coinbase relative to Binance, a pattern that generally reflected strong demand from U.S. investors. If the latest positive premium can persist, it could provide additional support for Bitcoin’s recent upward momentum.
However, Bitcoin still faces a key technical resistance level. Market participants are closely watching the 50-period simple moving average at around $81,000, which analysts view as an important hurdle following the recent rebound. If the Coinbase Premium continues to expand, ETF inflows remain strong, and Bitcoin successfully breaks above $81,000, it could strengthen the case that the latest rebound is more than a short-term recovery and instead marks the beginning of a more sustained uptrend.
