Bitcoin faced renewed uncertainty on Tuesday as inflows into U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs dropped to $23.16 million, down sharply from $526.7 million the previous day. Data from SoSoValue showed that while BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) still attracted $29.86 million and Fidelity’s FBTC added $3.58 million, these gains were partly offset by $10.29 million in withdrawals from Bitwise’s BITB fund.

ETF Inflows Slow Sharply

The steep decline marked a significant shift after Monday’s surge, which had seen the largest single-day increase in Bitcoin ETF demand in nearly a month. On that day, BlackRock alone purchased $665.2 million worth of Bitcoin ETF shares, even as other funds recorded outflows that reduced the industry’s total net gain.

Earlier in October, the market had also experienced substantial selling, with $729 million withdrawn over October 7 and 8. Despite this, the combined two-day inflow remained positive at around $549.9 million, signaling that institutional interest had not evaporated, though new allocations slowed substantially.

Rather than signaling a sharp withdrawal of capital by institutional investors, the 96% drop in daily inflows reflected a dramatic reduction in new money entering Bitcoin ETFs.

Monday’s net inflow reached $526.7 million, the highest daily total in nearly a month, but by Tuesday, that momentum had faded, with net inflows dwindling to just $23.16 million amid mixed trades across leading funds.

Against this backdrop, Bitcoin traded near the $82,000 region as traders weighed whether demand from large investors could support a recovery toward the $90,000 mark.

Technical Barriers and Support Zones Emerge

Blockchain analytics provider Glassnode reported that investors who accumulated Bitcoin during the later stages of 2025 have an average acquisition cost close to $87,700. This level coincides with Bitcoin’s approximate opening price for 2026 and its 20-month moving average, both near $87,165 to $87,490..

Analysts pointed out that this price range represents a significant resistance area. Holders who previously sat on unrealized losses may be inclined to sell if Bitcoin approaches their breakeven point, creating extra selling pressure and limiting upward momentum.

The upper-$80,000 range has already proven to be a ceiling for Bitcoin’s recent rallies, highlighting its significance as a technical benchmark and signaling where new supply may emerge.

On the other side, Glassnode calculates the average cost basis for U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF holdings at around $81,500, establishing a potential support zone between $80,000 and $81,500. That area is reinforced by historic buying volumes and significant order-book liquidity.

Should this support fail to hold, Glassnode’s True Market Mean at about $78,000 could act as the next possible downside target. Past rebounds from the $80,000 level have often been sharp, though not always sustainable in the longer term.

Market Outlook Rests on Key Events and Tools

For a bullish push toward $90,000, analysts argue that Bitcoin would first need to reclaim $85,000 and successfully break through the dense supply zone near $87,700. Sustained buying interest would be essential to fuel such a rally.

Conversely, a drop below the $80,000–$81,500 support could signal further losses. Market participants are closely watching U.S. Federal Reserve policy, with an interest rate decision on October 28 expected to inject additional volatility.

Open interest trends in Bitcoin derivatives markets are also being tracked for clues to underlying sentiment, as rising Treasury yields continue to weigh on appetite for risk-sensitive assets.

Given the rapid changes triggered by factors such as Federal Reserve decisions or unexpected altcoin listings, investors are increasingly relying on integrated platforms like CryptoAppsy. These privacy-first tools allow users to monitor real-time charts, set advanced price alerts, track coin-specific news, and access crucial macroeconomic data—all from a single interface without requiring account creation. As the digital asset market becomes more unpredictable, consolidating information and trading functions in one place may help traders respond faster and potentially avoid costly delays.

Despite ongoing institutional purchases by BlackRock, uncertainty around near-term ETF inflows has left the outlook for a decisive Bitcoin breakout unresolved.
