Bitcoin climbed more than 30% from its August low near $62,000, reached approximately $81,000 before the month ended, and then touched $82,000 during September. That recovery has strengthened the argument that the bear market ended during June.

One analyst remains unconvinced despite several indicators turning bullish. His cycle analysis presents a less comfortable possibility. Bitcoin may have formed a temporary bottom before starting a recovery that could eventually fail.

The price chart also gives that warning some technical support. BTC has struggled near $81,000 and $82,000, which creates the early structure of a possible double top. What happens around $76,000 and $83,000 could therefore determine whether the rally continues or begins a much deeper retracement.

CryptoCon Says Bitcoin May Have Formed a False Bull Market Start

Crypto analyst CryptoCon noted that the weekly Supertrend recently changed to a bullish reading. Several other metrics have also entered bullish territory, but he does not believe those readings confirm a new bull market.

CryptoCon believes June 2026 produced a false cycle bottom. He also described the latest Bitcoin price recovery as a possible false bull market start.

His argument comes from Bitcoin’s historical cycle timing. CryptoCon expects the real cycle bottom to arrive between November 2026 and January 2027. That expectation leaves room for another major decline before Bitcoin begins its next full market cycle.

The analyst compared the current setup with December 2024, though the directional circumstances were reversed. Market data during December 2024 appeared consistent with a final cycle top. CryptoCon considered the possibility that Bitcoin’s cycle had ended 1 year early, but he eventually maintained that the cycle remained incomplete.

Bitcoin later reached its final high during October 2025, which matched the expected cycle window. CryptoCon now applies similar reasoning to the market bottom. Current data may resemble a completed bottom, but the established cycle could remain active until its expected low period arrives.

Bitcoin Weekly Supertrend Cannot Confirm The Bottom Alone

The weekly Supertrend turning bullish matters because the indicator uses price and volatility to identify the prevailing trend. A bullish change normally means Bitcoin has moved above the indicator’s trend boundary.

However, Supertrend follows price instead of predicting it. A powerful recovery from $62,000 to $82,000 can turn the indicator bullish even when the wider cycle remains bearish. BTC must maintain higher lows and break major resistance before the reading receives stronger confirmation.

The current evidence can be divided into 2 opposing groups:

Bullish Bitcoin EvidenceBearish Bitcoin WarningBTC recovered more than 30%The recovery may have started before the expected cycle bottom windowWeekly Supertrend turned bullishSupertrend can change after a large countertrend rallyBitcoin reclaimed several prior levelsBTC remains below major resistance near $83,000Momentum improved across several metricsA possible daily double top has formed near $81,000 and $82,000

The table explains why neither argument has been confirmed. Bitcoin has produced a strong recovery, but the price has not cleared the resistance needed to invalidate the bearish chart structure.

Bitcoin Price Could Confirm A Double Top Below $76,000

A look at the Bitcoin daily chart shows 2 recent peaks near $81,000 and $82,000. Those peaks create a possible double top, although the pattern remains unconfirmed.

The $76,000 area acts as the likely neckline and immediate support. BTC needs to break below that level before the double top carries stronger technical weight. Until that happens, the formation remains a warning instead of a completed reversal pattern.

A confirmed breakdown could send Bitcoin toward $66,000 as the market retraces part of the August recovery. Losing $66,000 would expose the previous low near $61,000. Further selling pressure could then bring $57,000 or lower levels back into view.

The bearish route currently depends on several confirmations:

  • Bitcoin must continue failing below $83,000.
  • BTC must lose the $76,000 neckline.
  • Sellers must then break the support near $66,000.
  • A move below $61,000 would strengthen CryptoCon’s false bottom argument.

Bitcoin Price Needs To Clear $83,000 To Target $90,000

Bears have not confirmed control because Bitcoin still holds above $76,000. Buyers could invalidate the possible double top through a decisive breakout above $83,000.

That breakout would place BTC above both recent peaks and remove the immediate ceiling. Bitcoin price could then advance toward $90,000 during the coming weeks, especially if the former $83,000 resistance becomes support.

Continued rejection below $83,000 does not guarantee an immediate crash. Bitcoin could spend several weeks consolidating between approximately $70,000 and $82,000. A wider range could extend into the upper $60,000 region if volatility increases without producing a full bearish breakdown.
