Bitcoin remains locked in a tight trading band, with prices hovering around $86,152. The cryptocurrency has held between $83,000 and $86,700 for approximately two weeks, according to recent CoinGecko data. Within the last day, Bitcoin saw a modest 0.31% increase, while weekly gains reached 2.22%. Trading volumes currently stand at $27.97 billion, indicating continued market activity despite restrained price action.

Support builds between $83,300 and $84,600

Crypto analyst Ali Charts identified a significant support region in the $83,300 to $84,600 range. According to URPD (UTXO Realized Price Distribution) data, 1.59 million BTC recently changed hands in this area, suggesting substantial buying interest from market participants. These clusters indicate that many holders entered the market near these levels and are likely to defend their positions, which may help stabilize prices.

Support between $83,300 and $84,600 has formed as a key zone, with a notable cluster of 1.59 million BTC bought in this interval, pointing to potential buyer strength if prices are tested.

URPD tracks the last movement price of Bitcoin units, mapping out concentrations where coins were most recently purchased. Dense groupings in this data can highlight zones where buyers are willing to step in and support the asset.

Ali Charts reported that large holders, known as whales, have accumulated over 14,335 BTC since October 1, representing an inflow of roughly $1.22 billion. This accumulation trend suggests that influential investors may be positioning for a possible upside breakout.

Mini dictionary: URPD (UTXO Realized Price Distribution), a metric that shows the prices at which Bitcoin coins last moved on-chain, providing insight into support and resistance zones based on holder entry points.

Analysts watch $86,700 for breakout potential

Experts point out that the supply of Bitcoin above current prices remains thin, according to URPD analysis. Ali Charts notes that if BTC is able to surpass $86,700, the next significant area of coin concentration does not appear until around $105,000. This lack of overhead supply could remove selling pressure and create an opening for a move toward six figures.

If Bitcoin clears $86,700, the path toward higher prices could accelerate, as few holders would be waiting to sell until much higher levels.

Chart analyst SIRRILLAH also highlighted this potential, observing that Bitcoin has already breached resistance at $66,000 and $82,000, setting up $87,000 as the next key obstacle. He suggests that a sustained break above $87,000 could pave the way for a move toward $100,000.

Trader Daan Crypto Trades noted that the $85,000 level is frequently tested, sometimes acting as both support and resistance in daily trading. Marginally lower highs have formed above $87,000, while a similar cluster exists near $83,000, potentially pointing to an imminent price squeeze if either barrier is decisively breached.

Key Levels Function Possible Scenario $83,300–$84,600 Support zone Bulls defend, price stabilizes or rebounds $86,700 Resistance Breakout could lead toward $100K $87,000 Resistance Clear break may trigger strong upward move $82,500 Support (if breakdown) Further downside if breached $105,000 Supply cluster Next potential resistance after breakout

Divergent trader outlooks and downside risks

Not all traders are optimistic about a quick move higher. Analyst Lennaert Snyder is defending the previous daily low near $85,000 and has taken a short-term short position targeting $84,400, while maintaining a broader bullish view on higher time frames. Snyder is watching $84,900 as a pivot; a failure to hold may result in downside toward $82,500. If support zones fail, he sees $74,000 as the next potential drop level.

SIRRILLAH echoed similar cautions, warning that if $87,000 continues to cap rallies, $74,000 could eventually come into play. For now, buyers need to protect the $83,300 to $84,600 support range, while $86,700 remains the key resistance that must fall for renewed bullish momentum.

Analysts note that any significant dip below these crucial supports may shift the market structure in favor of sellers, with $82,500 and $74,000 being identified as critical lower price zones to monitor over the short term.
