The SEC’s official Notice of Effectiveness lists Bitwise XRP ETF, registration number 333-282465, and confirms an effectiveness date of Sept. 28. Bitwise filed a final 424B3 prospectus later the same day.

But the wording matters: this is not approval of a new XRP ETF. Bitwise’s product has traded on NYSE Arca under ticker XRP since Nov. 19, 2025.

Sept. 18 Filing Is Now Effective

The development closes the loop on paperwork that attracted unusual attention earlier this month.

Bitwise filed Post-Effective Amendment No. 2 on Sept. 18. The document was still a preliminary prospectus at the time and explicitly stated that shares could not be sold under that registration statement until it became effective.

That same filing coincided with a 7.7% XRP rally, creating confusion over whether Bitwise had received a fresh ETF approval. The actual event was an amendment to an already operating product, a distinction that became important during the XRP move triggered by the Sept. 18 Bitwise filing.

The final prospectus keeps the core structure intact.

The fund directly holds XRP, uses Coinbase Custody to safeguard the tokens and relies on BNY Mellon for key administrative functions. Its annual expense ratio remains 0.34%, details already visible in the Bitwise XRP ETF’s custody and fee structure.

The notice therefore represents a registration update becoming effective, rather than a new product launch or exchange-listing approval.

That distinction matters as XRP ETFs continue attracting institutional capital. U.S. funds recently crossed more than 1 billion XRP in combined holdings.
