Mike McGlone, senior commodities strategist at Bloomberg Intelligence, suggested that a sharp correction in US stock markets could drag the price of Bitcoin (BTC) down to $10,000. However, crypto analyst Darkfost countered this prediction, stating that the scenario does not align with historical data.

McGlone stated in his assessment that if US stock markets were to fall by 20 percent, Bitcoin could drop to the $10,000 level.

The strategist, recalling that Bitcoin has led the rise in risky assets since 2009, argued that recent macroeconomic developments could signal a significant break in the markets.

According to McGlone, Bitcoin surpassing $100,000 in 2025, gold exceeding $5,000 in the first quarter of 2026, and central banks adopting increasingly cautious policies are among the developments to watch.

The analyst, particularly noting the sharp rise in government bond yields, suggested that these conditions could signal the end of the long-running bull run in risky assets.

Crypto Analyst Objects to $10,000 Prediction

Responding to McGlone’s pessimistic prediction, cryptocurrency analyst Darkforth stated that he considers the possibility of Bitcoin falling to $10,000 to be quite low.

Darkfost argued that there is no historical precedent for a 20% correction in US stock markets leading to a nearly 92% drop in Bitcoin from its peak.

The analyst, noting that a drop in Bitcoin to $10,000 would mean an extremely sharp decline in value from current levels, considered such a scenario to be “extremely unlikely.”
