Tokenized stocks are drawing most of their trading activity outside regular US market hours, an early sign that round-the-clock access may be one of the main draws of putting equities onchain. BNB Chain (@BNBCHAIN) $BNB and Solana (@solana) $SOL lead the trend.

The value of tokenized stocks has risen 15% over the past 30 days to nearly $3.3 billion, Cointelegraph reported, citing RWA.xyz data.

BNB Chain leads on after-hours volume

According to Blockworks data cited by The Kobeissi Letter, more than 70% of tokenized stock trading volume on BNB Chain takes place outside the traditional 9:30 am to 4 pm Eastern session. The figure is 63% on Solana and nearly 60% on Base, Cointelegraph reported.

The pattern suggests investors are using tokenized stocks to trade when traditional US exchanges are closed, rather than simply mirroring activity during regular hours. Traditional brokerages restrict access to exchange hours, while blockchain-based platforms do not, which may help explain the skew toward off-hours activity among users in other time zones.

Jupiter (@JupiterExchange), a major Solana-based trading platform, also reported a 50% month-over-month increase in tokenized asset trading volume. Jupiter's figure covers tokenized assets broadly rather than stocks alone, so it is a general signal of rising onchain demand rather than a stock-specific measure.

Issuers and regulatory backdrop

A significant share of tokenized stock value is concentrated among a small number of issuers, including Ondo Global Markets, xStocks and bStocks. Their tokens are issued and traded across different blockchains, according to Cointelegraph. That cross-chain availability means off-hours volume can appear on several networks at once.

The growth also comes as US regulators open the door to tokenized equities. Cointelegraph reported that the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) introduced an "innovation exemption" last month. Odaily Planet Daily, via KuCoin News, reported that the exemption allows eligible trading venues to trade tokenized US stocks on public blockchains, with disclosure requirements on prices, trade sizes and liquidity pool balances.

Whether regulatory clarity deepens demand further remains to be seen. For now, the data points to a market where timing, not just access, is shaping how investors use tokenized equities.
