Bolts Rewards: Tampa Bay Lightning Launch NHL Loyalty on Avalanche
On October 19, the Tampa Bay Lightning announced a card-linked fan loyalty program built by Uptop on Avalanche. It is Uptop's first NHL program. This Bolts Rewards report explains how it works and what is confirmed.

Avalanche's X post frames it as bringing blockchain technology to the NHL. The team release does not mention tokens, wallets or fees.

Uptop recognizes qualifying purchases made with the linked card automatically, so fans do not scan receipts. The Lightning's commercial chief said the program recognizes fan loyalty throughout the season. Uptop's partnerships head said fans want to support teams in and out of season.
Named partners include Bonefish Grill, Busch Gardens, Carrabba's, Culver's, Flemings and Outback Steakhouse.
The release said availability would start later in October. The BoltsRewards.com page loads, but it showed no readable terms. Points rates, expiry and redemption prices were not found in the sources reviewed. Without them, fans cannot yet compare the program with other rewards cards.
Why Avalanche and Uptop Power the Lightning Rewards Program
Uptop is an onchain rewards platform. Rain, a stablecoin payments company, acquired it in November 2025. Uptop's architecture runs on Avalanche. The Lightning release says the program is "enabled by Avalanche".
Rain's own announcement said the platform turns everyday card purchases into loyalty for fans, brands and sponsors. Earlier Uptop programs include Cavs Rewards for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Pistons Rewards for the Detroit Pistons and a program for LSU Athletics.
Rain and Uptop reported a 21% lift in sponsor spend and a 51% rise in Team Shop sales for the Cavaliers. These are company-reported figures, not Lightning results.
Descriptions of other Uptop programs say fans need no wallet, seed phrase or gas fees. The Lightning release does not say this.

Only "first NHL partner for Uptop" is supported. No source reviewed shows that other NHL teams have not used blockchain tools.
A tracker showed AVAX at $8.53 on November 4, up 2.89% in 24 hours, with a $3.78 billion market cap. The release dates from October 19, so no link to that move is established.

The Bottom Line
This Bolts Rewards launch is a confirmed team and Uptop partnership with a clear fan pitch. Points value, expiry and live availability still need checking on the official page before readers treat it as running. The team release and BoltsRewards.com are the sources to watch.
