The global financial order is shifting. Digital Perspectives’ Brad Kimes broke down why Ripple and XRP sit at the center of it in a recent video. He pointed to BRICS Pay, which was just launched by the BRICS Coalition, comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, and a growing number of partner nations.

Many dismissed the system as fiction, but Kimes feels otherwise. BRICS Pay represents a concrete move by a significant bloc of the global economy to build payment infrastructure outside the U.S. dollar system.

Vladimir Putin addressed the shift directly, stating that “so-called old leaders” of global economic growth “will be replaced by new engines of growth.” The statement signals the geopolitical intent driving the infrastructure BRICS nations are building.

Ripple’s Footprint Across BRICS Nations

Ripple has existing connections across nearly every BRICS member. In Brazil, Ripple expanded payments, custody, and treasury services, while the BBRL stablecoin launched on the XRP Ledger. In the UAE, Ripple holds a DFSA license in Dubai.

South Africa’s ABSA Bank engaged Ripple for institutional digital asset custody. India has active ODL and Ripple Payments arrangements. Russia conducted bank tests as far back as 2018. China had early RippleNet participation through LinlinPay.

Kimes stopped short of claiming Ripple is the infrastructure for BRICS Pay, but called the question reasonable given the depth of these connections. Ripple also holds a MiCA license covering the entire EU and a custody partnership with Italy’s largest bank, Intesa Sanpaolo.

U.S. Regulatory Clarity Gets Closer

The CLARITY Act remains the central legislative event for XRP in the United States. A former Treasury official stated the odds of passage are “better than they have ever been.” Bloomberg’s Stephen Dennis reported that 7 to 10 Senate Democrats now appear likely to vote yes for cloture.

Cody Corbo of the Digital Chamber added that the Act could be broken into smaller pieces and attached to must-pass legislation such as the NDAA before year’s end.

Institutional Scale Is Already Here

Former CFTC Chair Caroline Pham stated that institutional adoption could involve “not just millions, not just billions, not just trillions, maybe quadrillions.” The DTC processes $4 quadrillion in annual settlements, and Ripple Prime is among the firms selected to work with it.

Kimes also highlighted Ripple Treasury and the upcoming amendment for the lending protocol on the ledger. He cited comments from Ripple CTO Emeritus David Schwartz, who believes XRP could surpass Bitcoin. All signs seem to point to a positive future for the digital asset.
