Bitcoin continued to face downward pressure after recently dropping from highs near $87,000, although a technical indicator tracked by cryptocurrency analyst Ali Charts has raised expectations for a possible rebound. The TD Sequential indicator, which is used to identify trend exhaustion, is now signaling a potential buying opportunity for Bitcoin.

Technical outlook and recent price action

BTC traded at approximately $82,083, down 1.5% from the previous session. During the latest trading period, it ranged between a high of $83,616 and a low of $81,792, keeping the $82,000 mark in focus for market participants.

Bitcoin saw strong gains at the start of October, touching $86,995 on October 5 before reversing under heavy selling activity. In the following days, the price extended its declines, falling to $85,557 on October 6 and $83,276 on October 7, as selling persisted.

The sustained decline in Bitcoin has occurred while risk assets face broader headwinds. Investors continue to monitor shifts in US Treasury yields, oil prices, and global macroeconomic factors contributing to heightened volatility for cryptocurrencies.

Analyst flags potential rebound zone

Ali Charts, a widely followed crypto analyst, highlighted the TD Sequential buy signal flashing on Bitcoin’s four-hour chart in the wake of the recent 5.55% decline from its October 5 high. The TD Sequential is a technical analysis tool designed to spot areas where a price trend may be losing momentum, potentially indicating price reversals.

Mini dictionary: TD Sequential, a widely-used technical indicator, seeks to identify trend exhaustion and possible reversal points in asset prices by analyzing consecutive price bars or candles.

BTC has faced a corrective move of about 5.5% since reaching its October high, and the emergence of the TD Sequential signal implies the current selling sequence may be nearing completion, possibly paving the way for a reversal if confirmed by price action.

Currently, the $82,000 area serves as an important support zone. Immediate technical support for Bitcoin lies between $81,800 and $82,000, very close to present levels. Maintaining this range could give buyers room to push the price back toward $83,000.

Support Zone Resistance Zone Potential Targets $81,800 – $82,000 $84,000 – $84,600 $86,000 – $87,000

Critical resistance and risk levels

A clear move above the $84,000 to $84,600 resistance zone would strengthen bullish momentum and possibly open the way for a test of the $86,000 to $87,000 range observed earlier this month. However, should Bitcoin break below $81,800, the validity of the current technical setup would be diminished, exposing the price to renewed downward pressure.

Traders are focusing on whether the current signals lead to a reversal or further weakness. While technical indicators appear promising for a short-term bounce, analysts stress that confirmation requires a sustained move above key resistance levels.

A successful defense of the $82,000 support could give buyers the confidence to retest higher resistance, but a failure to hold this line may prolong the current correction.

The TD Sequential signal, as highlighted by Ali Charts, offers a potential trigger for bullish sentiment. Still, traders await confirmation from price action before positioning for a trend reversal. The market remains cautious while keeping a close watch on the $82,000 threshold.
