Bybit to Launch 24/7 SpaceX and Nvidia Perpetual Options
CryptoCompass editorial visual for markets coverage.

In Brief:

  • Bybit will launch round-the-clock perpetual options linked to SpaceX and Nvidia with fractional lots and USDT settlement for traders globally.
  • The exchange plans more expiries and underlying assets as tokenized-equity perpetual volume reaches approximately $470 billion monthly across markets worldwide.
  • Hyperliquid equity markets expanded from roughly 2% to 50% of perpetual volume, driven by Nvidia, Tesla, and Nasdaq-100 trading activity.

Crypto exchange Bybit will launch perpetual options linked to SpaceX and Nvidia, widening access to equity-based derivatives through cryptocurrency markets. Trading will open on September 17 at 8 p.m. UTC and remain available throughout the week.

According to Bybit, these products represent the first options contracts tied directly to stock perpetuals. Users can trade SpaceX contracts under SPCX and Nvidia contracts under NVDA without relying on conventional stock market hours.

Both products will support fractional lots, allowing traders to select smaller positions based on their available capital. Additionally, Bybit will settle every contract in USDT through its Unified Trading Account.

The account combines spot, derivatives, and other positions within one system, simplifying collateral and risk management. Portfolio margin will also assess risks across several positions instead of calculating each trade independently.

Consequently, users can employ strategies involving purchased options, written options, spreads, straddles, and covered calls. Bybit plans to introduce additional expiration dates regularly and expand the selection of underlying products.

Planned additions include Tesla, QQQ, SOXL, and semiconductor company Micron. Unlike standard equity options, these products will not require contracts representing 100 underlying shares. However, traders will gain exposure to derivatives tracking stock perpetuals rather than ownership of the actual equities.

Tokenized Equity Markets Support Growing Demand for Advanced Derivatives

Bybit’s expansion reflects increasing interest in cryptocurrency products linked to American companies and major stock indexes. Coinbase, Kraken, Robinhood, and other platforms have introduced equity perpetuals or tokenized shares with round-the-clock access.

Moreover, tokenized stocks are moving beyond basic ownership as platforms incorporate them into collateral and leveraged trading systems. Ondo Finance introduced tokenized equities as collateral for perpetual trading involving stocks, commodities, and other assets in July.

Bybit’s new contracts extend this development by adding options alongside existing perpetual instruments. Traders can therefore build positions around price direction, market volatility, portfolio protection, or potential income generation.

Demand for tokenized equity perpetuals has increased considerably across centralized and decentralized trading platforms. Monthly volume climbed from $85 billion in January to approximately $470 billion in June. SpaceX became the most traded equity perpetual during June, generating more than $66 billion in volume.

Onchain Equity Perpetuals Capture Larger Market Share

Onchain markets have also recorded greater equity-related activity through Hyperliquid’s HIP-3 framework. Equity-focused HIP-3 products represented roughly 2% of Hyperliquid’s perpetual volume at the beginning of the year.

That share later reached approximately 50%, with Nvidia, Tesla, and Nasdaq-100 contracts supporting much of the activity. Significantly, these figures show that traders increasingly use blockchain platforms for equity exposure outside established market schedules.

Bybit’s launch adds another derivatives layer by combining options strategies with fractional positioning and USDT settlement. The rollout also strengthens the connection between tokenized equities, stock perpetuals, and cryptocurrency trading infrastructure. Ultimately, the products broaden access to complex equity derivatives while removing traditional trading-hour and contract-size restrictions.
