Cardano set a new record for transaction throughput per block, marking a key milestone in the network’s ongoing performance evolution. Data analytics provider Chainspect reported that Cardano reached 436 transactions per second (TPS) in a single block on October 7, surpassing an earlier figure of 345 TPS recorded the same day.

Recent throughput surge

Chainspect highlighted the swift succession of milestones, stating that Cardano achieved “a record, then a bigger one, all in one day.” This rapid advancement underlines Cardano’s capacity to handle spikes in network activity and signals ongoing scaling improvements.

The announcement comes as Cardano prepares to implement its next major protocol, Ouroboros Leios, which targets achieving throughput of up to 1,000 TPS. Developers expect the forthcoming protocol to enhance scalability, paving the way for greater network efficiency and functionality.

Chainspect also noted increased network revenue, reporting that Cardano generated $70,000 in monthly revenue, outperforming the previous month and reflecting positive momentum in on-chain activity.

Fresh momentum and ecosystem upgrades

Market intelligence firm Santiment observed that Cardano’s social engagement recently reached a yearly high, coinciding with a series of new advancements in the ecosystem. The launch of RealFi on Cardano’s mainnet on October 1, upcoming Leios protocol, new support from Fireblocks, and additional institutional partnerships contributed to a surge in Cardano-related discussions.

Over the last day, multiple upgrades and integrations have maintained Cardano’s presence in industry headlines. The Cardano Foundation revealed that its application for the .ada domain has advanced to the next stage of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) New Generic Top-Level Domain (gTLD) Program.

The foundation’s domain application initiative followed a governance action supported by nearly 75% of the Cardano community. If ICANN approves the .ada gTLD, Cardano could gain a stronger digital footprint and unlock new innovation potential for its platform.

Cardano’s application for the .ada gTLD initiative, backed by a broad governance mandate, could support a more competitive digital identity and expand technical opportunities within the Cardano ecosystem if approved by ICANN.

In addition, Cardano became part of the Open Wallet Standard (OWS) beginning with version 1.4.3. OWS offers open-source software that allows applications and artificial intelligence agents to maintain wallets on their host device and use one interface for signing across various blockchains.

The programmable token standard CIP-0113 was also activated on the Cardano mainnet, a development that lets stablecoin and regulated asset issuers embed compliance criteria directly within native Cardano tokens.

Tools and trading efficiency

As transaction throughput and ecosystem enhancements position Cardano for future growth, efficient market participation remains a priority for traders and investors. With the pace of change in the digital asset space, a single Federal Reserve decision or fast-paced altcoin listing can rapidly shift the landscape.

Rather than switching among multiple platforms for news, portfolio updates, and technical charts, experienced participants now turn to privacy-focused unified tools like CryptoAppsy. Traders can access real-time price alerts, coin-specific news, charts, and essential macroeconomic data on one screen without account creation or exposing personal details.

Smart traders are consolidating their market monitoring and portfolio management to reduce friction and improve reaction time in volatile environments, leveraging integrated solutions instead of juggling several disconnected applications.
