Large Transaction Count Hits Five-Month Peak

Chainlink recorded 246 transactions worth at least $100,000 within a single 24-hour window, according to on-chain analytics platform Santiment. That marks the highest daily count of large transactions the network has seen in five months, pointing to a meaningful pickup in activity from major holders.

The surge is not an isolated event. Crypto analyst Ali Martinez, citing Santiment data, noted that large LINK holders added more than 14 million tokens over a three-week period, with accumulation extending a broader rise in balances held by major wallets during subdued price action.

Wallets holding between 100,000 and 10 million $LINK now control 466.31 million tokens, equivalent to 46.57% of the token's total supply. Santiment attributes the growing concentration to rising whale balances rather than a redistribution from smaller holders.

The trend has been building for months. According to Santiment, wallets in this tier accumulated an additional 32.93 million LINK over the past month, marking a 7.7% increase in holdings. Santiment noted that these whales usually accumulate during weak market conditions instead of chasing price rallies.

The number of wallets holding at least 100,000 LINK has also climbed to a new all-time high of 805 wallets, underscoring the breadth of large-holder interest. On the network side, Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol has processed more than $18 billion in cross-chain volume, with weekly transfers above $1.3 billion and roughly 78% quarterly growth.

As with all on-chain balance metrics, wallet-level data does not distinguish open-market purchases from internal transfers or custody reorganisations, so the figures should be read as indicative rather than definitive. Even so, the combination of rising large-transaction counts and growing whale balances gives the current accumulation signal more weight than either data point would carry alone.
