An Internet Computer plugin from @dfinity is now live in ChatGPT's plugin directory. It lets @ChatGPT read data from participating ICP apps and make non-financial changes across several apps in a single chat.
According to TradingView News, the listing gives Internet Computer apps a new distribution channel, since users can reach them directly from ChatGPT and act across apps in the same conversation. The same report notes the announcement includes no direct change to $ICP token mechanics.
Users sign in with Internet Identity, the Internet Computer's authentication system, and choose between read-only access and permission to act. Apps have to opt in before the plugin can reach them, so developers keep control over which services are exposed to ChatGPT.
The release follows an earlier manual route. A developer on the Internet Computer Developer Forum described enabling AI access in Internet Identity and adding the ICP MCP server as a custom ChatGPT plugin with OAuth. After that, ChatGPT could find their MULTI/DEX account and read balances and open positions. The new directory listing replaces that developer-mode setup with a standard install.
OpenAI's help documentation says that as of July 9, 2026, the app directory moved to the Plugin directory. Plugins are now the main way to discover workflow capabilities across ChatGPT and Codex. A plugin can include skills, apps and app templates, while apps remain the integrations that connect ChatGPT to external data and actions.
For the Internet Computer ecosystem, a listing in that directory puts ICP apps in front of ChatGPT users without a custom setup. The practical effect will depend on how many apps opt in and how many users install the plugin. Users can find it by searching for 'Internet Computer' in the ChatGPT plugins section.
