Key Insights:

  • Circle stock declines 5.17% to $79.78 after announcing a stablecoin deal with Tereina.
  • USDC and EURC payments will enter SAP workflows, with pilots planned in the coming months.
  • Arc will be the preferred blockchain for the initial enterprise payment flow.

Circle stock declined by 5.17% in early trading on October 7 as the company announced a stablecoin partnership with Tereina. The agreement will bring USDC and EURC payments into SAP business software, starting with SAP Pay and SAP Cloud ERP.

Eligible companies will access those payment options through existing applications, while customer pilots will begin over the coming months.

Circle (CRCL) Stock Trades Near Session Lows

Circle stock shares traded at $79.78, down by $4.35 from the previous close of $84.13. The chart’s latest reading, at 10:26 a.m. UTC-4, placed shares near the displayed session’s lowest levels. The CRCL stock price approached $81 after trading began before slipping below $80.

Although Circle stock shares later recovered above $80, the rebound faded as selling pressure returned. Trading volume peaked during the opening minutes and eased as the session progressed.

Despite the Circle stock decline, Circle’s announcement outlined how the company intends to integrate stablecoin payments into enterprise workflows. Neither company disclosed participating customers, expected payment volumes, or a full commercial deployment timeline.

SAP Pay Connects Payments With Existing Workflows

Under the agreement, USDC will serve as the preferred stablecoin for eligible payments denominated in U.S. dollars.

EURC will support eligible transactions denominated in euros, extending the payment options described in Circle’s October 7 announcement. Finance teams will send and receive supported stablecoins through applications they already use.

SAP Pay operates within SAP Cloud ERP and connects payment execution with existing financial processes.

The service can reconcile payments against invoices or purchase orders within the same workflow. SAP states that customers can use pre-integrated Circle Mint accounts for USDC payments.

Alongside stablecoins, SAP Pay supports traditional channels, including ACH, wire transfers, checks, and electronic fund transfers.

The platform currently supports more than 40 currencies and 89 payment channels through one integration. Businesses retain control over payment timing, currencies, and methods when executing transactions within SAP workflows.

The agreement draws on SAP’s existing enterprise customer network. SAP’s July 2026 fact sheet states that its customers account for 84% of global business activity.

It also reports that 99 of the world’s 100 largest companies use SAP products. However, the companies have not identified which customers will test the integration.

Circle USDC Supply Reaches $74.1 Billion

Circle and Tereina named Arc as the preferred blockchain for the initial payment flow. That status does not require every SAP Pay transaction to settle on Arc. The payment service supports multiple channels, allowing enterprises to retain their choice of payment methods.

Over the coming months, the partners plan customer proof-of-concept projects and training for treasury and payments professionals.

They will also conduct enterprise stablecoin research and work with ecosystem partners on payment initiatives. Neither company specified when the first proof-of-concept projects would finish.

Meanwhile, Circle’s October 5 reserve figures showed $74.1 billion in circulating USDC, backed by $74.3 billion in reserves.

During the preceding seven days, Circle issued $9.4 billion in USDC while holders redeemed $10 billion. Separately, Circle reported $14.8 trillion in second-quarter on-chain USDC transaction volume, up 151% from a year earlier.
