Coinbase is pushing deeper into AI-powered finance, announcing that Coinbase Business users can now accept USDC payments from autonomous AI agents using the x402 payment standard, alongside a new suite of AI trading tools and a developer software development kit.
According to a post on X dated July 23, 2026, Coinbase Business accounts will be able to receive USDC from AI agents through x402, a payment protocol the company first introduced in May 2025. The standard enables stablecoin transfers over HTTP, targeting AI agents, applications, and APIs as the primary use cases.
