European crypto traders can now tap into Wall Street without waiting for the opening bell. On August 12, 2026, Crypto.com launched tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs for eligible users across the European Economic Area. The feature brings roughly 1,500 traditional assets directly into the company’s mobile app.

How the New Trading Feature Works

Starting at just $1, investors can gain price exposure to big-tech mainstays like Apple, Tesla, and Nvidia. The lineup also features commodity-focused funds, including the iShares Silver Trust and SPDR Gold Shares.

Unlike traditional exchanges that close late in the afternoon, these digital contracts run around the clock.

Alpaca, a U.S.-registered self-clearing broker-dealer, holds the underlying assets in custody. On the European side, Cyprus-licensed Foris Capital CY Limited handles issuance under the region's MiFID II rules.

To kick things off, Crypto.com is waiving basic trading fees for a limited time, though currency conversion fees still apply.

There is one key distinction traders need to keep in mind: you aren't buying actual shares. These tokens are financial derivatives that track stock prices. That means no voting rights and no official shareholder status, though the platform noted that users may still receive dividend-equivalent payouts in certain cases.

Why This Launch Matters for Retail Investors

For everyday investors, the appeal comes down to access and flexibility. Standard stock markets operate on strict schedules that often clash with European waking hours. Round-the-clock access changes that dynamic entirely.

It also opens up exposure to global equities for buyers who prefer micro-investments over buying whole shares.

At the same time, this structure shifts the risk profile. Because these instruments are synthetic derivatives, holding them comes with counterparty risk linked to the issuer, something traditional share ownership avoids.

The Growing Battle for Tokenized Assets

Crypto.com is stepping straight into a crowded ring. Rivals like Kraken, Robinhood, and Bybit have all pushed their own versions of blockchain-based equities in recent months. Everyone wants a piece of the growing appetite for cross-over trading tools.

Crypto.com hopes to carve out an edge through sheer volume. Offering 1,500 assets on day one gives its established app user base a much broader sandbox than many existing alternatives.

Traditional Finance Meets Blockchain Infrastructure

This rollout highlights a much larger shift across global markets. Financial firms are actively looking for ways to merge legacy investment assets with digital network infrastructure.

Using established legal frameworks like MiFID II allows platforms to roll out novel financial products while remaining inside Europe's consumer protection guardrails. Even so, regulatory approaches to tokenized assets remain fragmented across the rest of the world.

Crypto.com has indicated that these tokenized instruments are available in select markets outside the EEA as well. However, the company hasn't yet shared specific dates for further regional expansions or new stock additions.
