The crypto XRP is going through a difficult period, but American crypto ETF investors do not seem in a hurry to reduce their exposure. On October 29, the token was trading around $1.29, nearly 25% below the funds’ estimated average acquisition price. Yet, their monitored holdings decreased by only 0.26% between October 23 and 28. Six spot ETFs still held approximately 1.17 billion XRP.
In brief
- XRP is trading roughly 25% below the ETFs’ estimated acquisition price.
- The monitored funds’ holdings fell only 0.26% over three sessions.
- Bitwise concentrates most withdrawals, but its positions rose on October 29.
XRP ETFs Maintain 1.17 Billion Tokens
The latest figures from XRP Insights reveal unusual resistance. Between October 26 and 28, the crypto funds monitored by the platform recorded a net decrease of 2.96 million XRP, about 3.9 million dollars.
The decline remains limited. In early October, XRP ETFs had already experienced 3.28 million dollars in withdrawals concentrated in Bitwise. The total value of their assets then dropped by 37 million dollars, mainly due to price effects.
The current situation shows similarities. As of October 28, the six American spot XRP ETFs held about 1.17 billion tokens, representing 1.56 billion dollars in assets. Adding the XRP held in the diversified Bitwise 10 Crypto Index Fund (BITW), exposure reached 1.19 billion tokens.
That represents nearly 1.2% of the 100 billion XRP created. However, flow data require clarification. The calculation of 2.96 million XRP includes BITW but excludes Grayscale GXRP due to a historical interruption in data collection.
Grayscale’s holdings are nevertheless counted in the total tokens held. These movements therefore do not allow us to affirm that all crypto ETF holders refuse to sell. They simply indicate that observed aggregate positions have decreased very little.

Bitwise Concentrates Crypto Fund Withdrawals
Most of the movement comes from Bitwise. Its XRP ETF held about 416.61 million tokens on October 23. Three days later, this total had dropped to 413.82 million.
Nearly 2.79 million XRP thus disappeared from its holdings. Franklin Templeton and 21Shares, on the other hand, recorded no changes over the three sessions studied. On October 28, the monitored funds even added about 174,140 XRP, breaking two consecutive days of net withdrawals.
The movement remains modest, but more recent data deserve attention. According to holdings published by issuers, Bitwise held 416.05 million XRP on October 29, about 2.23 million tokens more than its previous report.
The fund therefore recovered much of the tokens withdrawn a few days earlier. However, the complete data for all crypto ETFs for this session were not yet consolidated.
Flows remain irregular. On October 8, XRP ETFs were already attracting capital despite weak prices. However, weekly inflows had significantly slowed.
Another caution: fluctuations in a crypto ETF’s reserves do not automatically correspond to buys or sells made by investors on the stock market. Creations and redemptions of shares, fees, or certain rebalancings can also change holdings.
XRP Remains Far From the ETFs’ Average Price
Holdings’ resistance does not protect funds against the crypto market decline. XRP Insights estimates their average acquisition price at about $1.71 per token. This calculation is based on the funds’ initial positions and daily holdings changes since December 2025.
With XRP close to $1.29 on October 29, the gap was about 24.6%. This is not a 25% loss recorded by each investor. Crypto ETF shares are bought and sold on different dates, sometimes at prices very distant from this theoretical average cost.
The XRP decline continued. On October 30, around 8:32 UTC, the token was trading around $1.255 on Binance. Compared to the estimated average cost of $1.71, the gap now reached about 26.5%.
Price pressure thus remains. At the end of August, XRP ETFs had nonetheless attracted $110.49 million in one week, their best weekly performance of the year at that time. The amounts observed today are significantly lower. To measure a true buyers’ return, upcoming data will need to show net share creations over several sessions. Reserve stability remains encouraging for holders but is insufficient to announce an XRP rebound.
