Dogecoin (DOGE) continued to trade under pressure on Tuesday, holding just below the key $0.070 support level. The largest meme coin displayed a neutral to slightly bearish tone as it struggled to attract new buyers amid persistent technical resistance.

Outlook for recovery and key support levels

Stabilizing near $0.070 could encourage market participants to increase their exposure to Dogecoin, potentially laying the groundwork for a short-term rebound. However, DOGE remains capped by several moving averages positioned above the current price, emphasizing the challenge it faces in shifting its broader bearish momentum.

While prices have fluctuated, data shows Dogecoin has posted a modest gain of less than 1% so far in August, raising speculation that it could snap a three-month losing streak. The token recorded losses of 5.9% in May, 28.3% in June, and 3.4% in July. The last notable monthly outperformace occurred in April, when Dogecoin advanced 15.6%.

If DOGE holds above the $0.070 threshold, it may preserve its slight August gain and set a more constructive base for a possible turnaround. Still, the token’s overall recovery appears fragile, with further confirmation needed in the form of stronger buying pressure and a clear break above technical resistance.

Market activity remains robust in Dogecoin’s derivatives sector even as the spot price consolidates. Perpetual futures Open Interest stood at $1.18 billion on Tuesday, a slight increase from $1.17 billion the previous day. This figure has risen significantly from $989 million on June 11, reflecting a steady influx of active futures positions.

Elevated Open Interest indicates that retail traders remain engaged. Their persistent participation could provide support for DOGE, especially during market corrections and periods of low spot price momentum.

Elevated Open Interest suggests consistent retail interest in Dogecoin, which could prove crucial if broader crypto markets come under pressure and could support sustained recovery efforts.

However, higher Open Interest alone does not clarify whether traders are leaning bullish or bearish. Increased leverage also brings the risk of greater volatility if DOGE sharply breaks from its current range.

Bulls eye resistance zones as technical signals diverge

Dogecoin remains below $0.070 and trades under several short-term moving averages. The primary technical barrier for bulls lies between $0.074 and $0.075, aligning with the 50-day Exponential Moving Average and the SuperTrend indicator. A sustained close above this region could shift focus to the 100-day EMA near $0.080, with the 200-day EMA around $0.095 emerging as a key level for a broader trend shift.

Momentum indicators currently offer a cautiously constructive, yet inconclusive, view. The Relative Strength Index has inched up to 46, suggesting slight improvement but still below the neutral mark. Meanwhile, the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) remains marginally positive but has started to flatten, indicating a lack of clear directional strength.

Technical traders continue monitoring these conditions closely, especially as DOGE approaches vital support and resistance levels. The ongoing contraction in price action underscores the importance of tracking key signals if a decisive move emerges.

This environment echoes a growing trend away from traditional brokerage-driven markets. Wall Street institutions are shifting toward Web3, where investors now access tokenized Real-World Assets such as US company shares, gold, and silver directly in their crypto wallets through platforms like 1stepSwap. By automating price discovery and eliminating intermediaries, these platforms allow for instant, direct asset ownership and potentially more transparent market access.

Potential downside risks and support

On the downside, bulls must defend $0.069 to prevent further losses. A decisive break below this level could expose former trendline support near $0.065. Should DOGE close at or below $0.065 on a daily basis, the risk of deeper declines increases.

Conversely, holding above these levels would preserve the chance for a short-term rebound, even as Dogecoin remains entrenched in its broader corrective structure.

Momentum remains mixed, and buyers have yet to assert clear control, signaling limited conviction until DOGE firmly breaks key resistance or loses vital support.
