Crypto analyst EGRAG CRYPTO (@egragcrypto) has published a weekly chart analysis of XRP that identifies a recurring structure across three separate market cycles. The analysis centers on the relationship between the 50 EMA and 200 EMA on the weekly timeframe.
According to the analyst, two previous death crosses between these moving averages each preceded accumulation phases that resolved to the upside. A third cross may now be forming.
Two Cycles With Two Recoveries
The 2019 to 2020 period saw the 50 EMA cross below the 200 EMA. Price entered a defined accumulation range, marked on the chart with yellow horizontal zones. It then recovered. The same sequence occurred between 2022 and 2023. Another bearish EMA cross, another accumulation range, another recovery.
EGRAG CRYPTO identifies these yellow zones as key reference points for the current setup. The analyst poses a direct question about where price goes next, asking whether it will hold the upper yellow range or drop into the lower yellow range before reversing.
The Ascending Channel
The chart features two diagonal white lines forming an ascending channel that stretches across the entire price history shown. EGRAG CRYPTO states the macro trajectory “remains upward as long as the ascending white channel holds.” XRP’s price remains inside that channel as of October 21.
The analyst notes the 50 EMA and 200 EMA cross is a lagging signal. The channel structure carries more weight in this analysis than the EMA relationship alone. “The EMA cross is lagging. The macro structure is the key,” the post states.
Volatility Expected in Both Directions
EGRAG CRYPTO does not treat the death cross as a straightforward bearish signal. He anticipates volatility: “Wicks? Expect them. Shakeouts? Is next, in both directions.” This positions the near-term price action as a period of compression and movement rather than a clean directional move.
The analyst also tracks the 33 EMA and 111 EMA alongside the primary 50 and 200 EMA levels. These appear on the chart as additional reference indicators. The 200 EMA, shown in red, has risen significantly since its 2017 to 2019 lows and now provides substantial support relative to earlier cycle lows.
Where the Structure Stands
XRP trades at $1.34 and sits above the upper portion of the yellow accumulation zone. The ascending channel remains intact.
The analyst’s conclusion is that macro structure takes priority over shorter-term EMA signals. Whether price dips into the lower yellow zone or holds the upper range, EGRAG CRYPTO’s thesis does not change unless the channel itself breaks.
