Billionaire tech tycoon Elon Musk wants to build a world outside Earth and now he wants a base on the moon.
As NASA broadcast the latest updates regarding the space agency's Moon Base on X on May 26, he jumped in and said, "Time to build major base on the Moon!"

Musk earlier shared his views on "self-growing civilizations" on the moon and Mars, saying it's important to secure the "long-term future of consciousness" on Earth and other heavenly bodies.
While Earth faces potential risks like a massive meteor or a global nuclear war, the choice between the Moon and Mars becomes crucial, he emphasized.
While it's faster to make a self-growing civilization on the Moon due to its close distance, it's susceptible to the earth's problems for the same reason. Conversely, it will take longer for Mars to become self-growing but it is safer from the earthy disasters due to its long distance, he argued.
"Both the Moon and Mars should have self-growing civilizations," Musk said. "Making this happen is the prime directive of SpaceX."
The proclamation comes only days after SpaceX filed to go public in what is going to be the world's largest public offering in financial history.

The tycoon has often spoken fondly about cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC) and meme coins like Dogecoin (DOGE).
In fact, SpaceX's S-1 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) revealed that the space tech company holds 18,712 Bitcoin on its balance sheet.
However, the latest comment didn't have any impact on the prices of these crypto assets.
Bitcoin was trading at $75,756.87 at press time, down 2% in the last 24 hours.
Dogecoin was exchanging hands at $0.1006, similarly down 2% in the last 24 hours.
