  • Episode Six launched the E6 Token Control Ledger, a bank-side system of record for tokenized deposits and stablecoins
  • It sits between a bank’s core banking platform and external wallets or networks, managing the full lifecycle of tokenized money across multiple currencies
  • It is available now to Episode Six’s existing bank customers globally, with additional network integrations planned through the coming year

Payments infrastructure company Episode Six launched the E6 Token Control Ledger, a bank-side system of record designed to let banks manage tokenized deposits and stablecoins the same way they already manage traditional accounts, according to the company’s announcement. The ledger sits between a bank’s existing core banking platform and the external wallets or blockchain networks it connects to, tracking the full lifecycle of tokenized money rather than requiring a separate system for each network a bank joins.

Episode Six built the product to solve a specific operational problem: banks joining multiple tokenized money networks currently face redundant onboarding, and must independently handle issuance, attribution, and reconciliation for each network separately. The E6 Token Control Ledger centralizes that work, letting a bank manage minting, holding, moving, and redeeming tokenized assets across numerous networks and currencies from one system, and continuously reconciling token positions against customer balances and underlying reserves.

The ledger is built to keep functioning even when a bank’s core banking system goes offline, and it supports public, private, and consortium-run stablecoins rather than locking a bank into a single token standard. It also integrates with Episode Six’s existing card processing infrastructure, which the company says will let tokenized balances be spent directly at traditional merchants rather than requiring a separate off-ramp step first.

“The E6 Token Control Ledger lets a bank connect to those networks without redesigning how it operates today,” said Daryn Griggs of Episode Six. CEO John Mitchell framed the product as a long-term architecture decision for banks entering tokenized finance, saying banks “build this once, on the operating model, controls, and keys it already trusts, and carry it into whatever networks and currencies come next.”

The launch adds to a wave of bank-facing tokenization infrastructure announced in 2026 as more financial institutions move from pilot programs toward production deployments of tokenized deposits and stablecoins. Episode Six said the ledger is available immediately to its existing bank customers worldwide, with further network integrations planned over the coming year as demand from individual banking partners develops.

The ledger sits alongside Episode Six’s existing card issuing and processing business, which already helps banks issue cards linked to customer accounts. By adding a system of record for tokenized money on top of that card layer, the company is positioning itself across both ends of bank-grade tokenized money infrastructure, from how a token is minted and reconciled to how it is ultimately spent by a customer at a merchant.
