@Fetch_ai, a founding member of the @ASI_Alliance, has launched ASI:Work as part of its ASI:One desktop app for Mac and Windows. The tool is designed to take on routine computer tasks by working directly with files stored on a user's machine.
How ASI:Work Operates
Users point ASI:Work at a folder and describe the job they want done. According to the product documentation, the tool reads files, writes new ones and runs commands to complete the task. The same documentation says the desktop app has two tabs: one for conversations with a personal AI, and a separate Work tab where tasks are handed off.
A coding mode is also included. It works through a local code project, suggests changes and runs the tests.
On permissions, ASI:Work by default stops for approval only before steps it rates as risky. Users can change this so it asks before every action, or restrict it to chat only. That setting matters for a tool able to run commands and modify files, since it lets users decide how much autonomy to grant.
Part of a Broader ASI:One Push
ASI:One is Fetch.ai's consumer-facing AI platform. When it was introduced in November 2025, VentureBeat reported that it was a personal-AI orchestration platform, launched alongside Fetch Business and Agentverse, an open directory hosting more than two million agents. Fetch positions the products as infrastructure for what it calls the Agentic Web, where consumer and brand AIs work together to complete tasks rather than only suggest them.
ASI:Work extends that approach from coordinating online agents to acting on files and code stored locally on a user's computer.
Fetch.ai is one of the original members of the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance. According to a 2024 announcement on the Fetch.ai blog, the alliance was formed by Fetch.ai, SingularityNET and Ocean Protocol, whose AGIX and OCEAN tokens merged into $FET. Crypto.com's educational resource notes that CUDOS later joined as a compute infrastructure partner in October 2024.
The launch adds to a growing field of AI tools that act on a user's behalf rather than only answering questions. Pricing and usage limits for ASI:Work were not detailed in the launch information reviewed.
