Former Ripple Chief Technology Officer David Schwartz has reported an unexplained stability improvement across his XRP Ledger hub server. According to his X post, Schwartz’s personal XRPL hub regained over 500 connected peers, recording 501, near its two-week high of 509.

An XRPL hub maintains connections with numerous servers participating in the network and helps them exchange important ledger information. These peer connections distribute transactions, validated ledgers, status updates, and other data needed for reliable network communication.
When a hub repeatedly loses peers, it must establish replacement connections before restoring normal communication with those servers. Frequent reconnections can create an unpredictable operating environment while placing additional networking demands on the affected infrastructure.
By contrast, fewer disconnections indicate that established links remain active longer, giving the operator steadier access to ledger data. Schwartz’s chart covered September 3 through September 17 and clearly displayed the recovery in active connections during that period.
Schwartz did not link the improvement to an XRPL upgrade or server configuration change. Consequently, the available information cannot establish whether software improvements, traffic patterns, or better peer availability caused the result.
His disclosure prompted several community members to offer possible explanations for the unexpected improvement in server reliability. One user asked whether Schwartz had developed a theory, while another suggested artificial intelligence might be operating the hub.
Nevertheless, Schwartz did not support those theories or indicate that artificial intelligence influenced the server’s recent performance. Broader server data would be necessary before observers could determine whether similar stability gains exist across other XRPL infrastructure.
At the moment, Schwartz’s hub has restored more than 500 peer connections and maintained them more reliably than earlier readings showed. The improvement gives his server a steadier networking environment, although the exact reason behind the change remains unresolved.
