A major update has come from leading crypto media CoinGape, with nominations for its Global Onchain Awards 2026 now set to close.
The awards programme, announced last month, has already received 100+ nominations across more than 20 categories.
After the selection process of nomination projects, the awards’ public voting phase will begin just hours after nominations close.
The voting window will run through September 25. It will be allowing participants to support the nominees they believe have made a notable contribution to their respective categories.
The awards, organised by CoinGape, will bring together some of the companies and leaders competing across the rapidly developing digital asset market. The nomination window is closing on 16th September at 11:59 pm. Now the attention will shift towards the selection process and the jury evaluation that will determine this year’s winners.
More than 100 nominations have been submitted for this year’s awards. This includes companies and individuals operating across different segments of the digital asset industry.
The programme includes more than 20 categories, giving companies an opportunity to put forward their work for consideration and get recognised in web3.
Once the nomination window closes, the submitted entries will move into the evaluation stage.
The jury will assess the nominees across their respective categories before the final nominated projects are determined.
Interestingly, the results will not be announced in digital ceremony this time. Instead, the winners will be revealed during the CoinGape’s Global Onchain Summit 2026 in Singapore on October 6.
The ceremony will take place alongside CoinGape’s Global Onchain Summit Singapore 2026, bringing nominees, industry executives and other participants together for the announcement.
The awards will now move towards the voting stage as nominations close and the jury begins reviewing the entries.
The winners will be selected through a combination of audience voting and closed jury comprising more than five industry professionals.
The jury brings experience from areas including banking, asset management, digital custody and financial infrastructure. The currently revealed jury includes Chetan Karkhanis, Senior Vice President at Franklin Templeton, and Hürcan Polat, Growth Lead for API & CLI at Nansen.
The programme has previously featured jury members including Jamie Elkahleh of Bitget Wallet, Matthew Sheffield of Sharplink, Rachel Conlan of Binance, Tiffany Chang of Visa, among other leading figures.
Rather than selecting winners solely on visibility or market presence, the evaluation will look at the work being done by each nominee and its relevance to the wider onchain ecosystem.
This includes the scale of an organisation’s work, the problem it is solving, the innovation behind its product or infrastructure and its broader contribution to the market.
The approach is particularly relevant in a year when the digital asset industry has seen a growing number of companies move into areas traditionally dominated by financial institutions.
With more than 100 nominations already received, the nomination window is now approaching its close. Projects still interested can file their nominations here.
Companies and leaders that have yet to put themselves forward have a final opportunity to submit their entries before nominations shut.
The focus now moves from nominations to evaluation and ultimately to finding out which companies and individuals will take home the Global Onchain Awards 2026.
