The Global Onchain Summit 2026, organized by CoinGape Media, concluded on October 6 at Pullman Singapore Hill Street. It brought together leaders from traditional finance and the digital asset industry to discuss institutional adoption, tokenization, stablecoins, and the future of onchain markets.
Held under the theme “The Institutional Era Is Onchain,” the summit featured keynotes, panel discussions, and fireside chats examining how blockchain technology is reshaping financial markets and payment infrastructure.
Arthur Hayes Gives Keynote at Global Onchain Summit
The Global onchain summit featured three keynote speakers: Arthur Hayes, Chief Investment Officer at Maelstrom, who discussed agentic Payments and FLOP Network; Arda Senoz, Ecosystem Lead at Alchemy Pay, who explored bridging fiat and crypto economies; and Zhang of DCS Pay, who addressed developments in digital payments.
The event opened with “Wall Street Goes Onchain: Decoding the Institutional Turnaround,” featuring Chetan Karkhanis, Senior Vice President at Franklin Templeton; Avalon Ingram, Digital Assets Business Lead at Swift; and Doni Shamsuddin, Head of Asia Pacific, BNY Investments. CNBC's Joanna Ossinger moderated the discussion, which examined the evolving role of established financial institutions in onchain markets.
Tokenization was another key focus. The panel “Tokenized Stocks: The Coming Revolution for the Capital Markets” brought together Arush Sehgal, Head of Digital Assets at Alpaca; Leonard Hoh, President of Bitstamp by Robinhood; and Bhaumik Kotecha, Co-Founder of Paxos Labs. Moderated by Pranav Rastogi of Wachsman, the session explored the opportunities and infrastructure requirements for bringing equities onto blockchain networks.
Stablecoin adoption and global payments also featured prominently in the program. The panel “The Stablecoin Century: Where the Global Payments Are Headed Next?” included Eric Barbier, CEO of Triple-A; Steven Hu, Head of Digital Assets, Global Markets at OCBC; and Justin Kugel, Executive Vice President of Growth at WLFI. Andrew O'Neill of S&P Global moderated the discussion on the changing role of stablecoins in global payments and blockchain-based settlement.
The summit also examined infrastructure gaps across decentralized finance. The panel “The Next DeFi Infrastructure: What's Still Missing in the Fragmented Market” featured Vasily S. of SwapSpace, Lana Izrina, Head of PR and Partnerships at BestChange, and Irena Timofeeva, Head of Business Development and Institutional Partnerships at 1inch. Moderated by Alice L. of CoinMarketCap, the session addressed fragmentation and the infrastructure needed to support a more connected DeFi ecosystem.
Agentic payments formed another part of the agenda. Wintermute Co-Founder Yoann Turpin joined Chainalysis Regional Sales Director for ASEAN Diederik van Wersch for a fireside discussion titled “Agentic Payments - The Next Financial Rails.” The conversation explored the intersection of autonomous AI agents and financial infrastructure.
Other sessions examined institutional opportunities in prediction markets with Kalshi’s Head of Institutional Andy Ross, and quantum-related risks to existing crypto holdings with American Fortress CEO Michal “Mehow” Pospieszalski.
