Hedera’s native token HBAR continues to face short-term selling pressure, while its long-term chart suggests a potential directional shift. The asset maintains a triangular formation on a monthly scale, with momentum weakening after surpassing October highs on the 4-hour chart.
According to data from BraveNewCoin, HBAR was trading at $0.08275 as of October 18, having lost 2.61% in the last 24 hours. During the same period, the price oscillated between $0.08207 and $0.08710. HBAR’s market capitalization stands at $3.64 billion, and its trading volume is about $104.75 million.
On the 4-hour chart, HBAR hovered around $0.08234 on October 17, 2026, with a downward-sloping line providing an upper boundary around $0.09212. Buyers would need to retest this zone to bolster any short-term recovery.
Staying below $0.09212 suggests that the selling pressure on HBAR remains unresolved in the short term.
Downward Risk Persists on 4-hour Chart
In the short-term view, HBAR gave back some gains achieved after late September peaks, nearing the lower band of its Bollinger Bands. The lower band is at $0.07103, while the upper band is at $0.11322. This situation indicates that sellers are still influential in the most recent price action.
If the price falls below close support around $0.0820, it might retract further to $0.07103. Conversely, an attempted recovery above $0.09212 may bring the $0.10 level back into focus in the short term.
Long-Term Compression in Monthly Chart
On the monthly chart, HBAR continues to move within a long-term triangular formation framed by rising support and falling upper boundaries. This structure is based on price compression between lines extending from 2020 lows and 2021 highs.
Hedera is known for developing an enterprise-level distributed ledger infrastructure. HBAR is used as its native token for transaction fees and network transactions.
The triangular structure on the monthly chart remains intact, but breaking the downward upper boundary is essential for confirming a $0.57 scenario.
Awaiting Breakout for Long-term Target
The $0.57 level discussed in the monthly view aligns with one of the historical peaks. However, this is currently a conditional projection, as the price has yet to make a sustained breakout above the triangle’s upper band.
Market participants are closely monitoring the support near $0.0820 and short-term thresholds around $0.09212, $0.10, and $0.12. A stronger recovery would necessitate a close above the upper boundary of the monthly formation.
