Nigerians have always enjoyed a good conversation, whether it is an argument about relationships, an unexpected celebrity confession or a discussion about everyday experiences. These days, many of those conversations are happening on podcasts, where a microphone, a camera and an interesting guest can attract thousands or even millions of viewers

Some shows have become popular for their controversial discussions. Others have built audiences around comedy, celebrity interviews, personal experiences and conversations about subjects people rarely discuss openly.

The growing popularity of podcasts has also introduced new opportunities for Nigerian content creators. Beyond streaming revenue, some shows now attract sponsorships, sell tickets to live events and build communities around their hosts.

1. I Said What I Said (ISWIS) For the culture: Here are the top 7 podcasts you can listen to in Nigeria right now

I Said What I Said is hosted by Feyikemi Abudu, popularly known as FK, and Jola Ayeye, also called Jollz.

Launched in 2017, the podcast has become popular for its humorous discussions about relationships, careers, pop culture, money and the challenges of adulthood. The hosts also respond to dilemmas submitted by listeners, often offering advice mixed with jokes and personal experiences.

The podcast has grown beyond recorded conversations, organising live shows in cities including Lagos, London, Dublin, New York and Toronto. Its eighth season began in February 2026.

2. The Honest Bunch Podcast 10 Nigerian podcasts shaping conversations in 2026

If there is one Nigerian podcast that rarely struggles to generate online debate, it is The Honest Bunch. Produced by Glitch Africa and launched in 2022, the show is known for lengthy conversations about relationships, marriage, religion, money and controversial social issues.

Its panel includes Husband Material, Deity Cole, Ezinne and Daddy Freeze, who joined in June 2025 following Nedu Wazobia’s departure.

The podcast’s guest list has included Yul Edochie, Waje, Peller and Jarvis, alongside people sharing personal experiences on subjects such as addiction and marriage.

Episodes frequently exceed two hours, giving guests considerable time to explain their positions while the hosts challenge their arguments. The programme’s willingness to discuss controversial subjects has attracted attention, although some conversations have also generated public criticism.

3. Tea With Tay Tea with Tay podcast Taymesan

Temisan Emmanuel, popularly known as Taymesan, hosts Tea With Tay, a podcast featuring conversations with entertainers, entrepreneurs, influencers and other public figures.

The show combines personal storytelling with entertainment, allowing guests to discuss their careers, relationships and experiences beyond what audiences usually see on social media.

In 2026, guests included Nancy Isime, Adeife Adeoye, Toolz Oniru, Chimezie Imo and Uzor Arukwe. A July episode featured Dami Aros and Isaac Aigbadumah of So Nigerian, who discussed building their podcast, producing two seasons without sponsorship and eventually organising a sold-out live show.

4. #WithChude

Media entrepreneur Chude Jideonwo hosts #WithChude, an interview programme that focuses on the personal stories behind public personalities.

Rather than concentrating exclusively on career achievements, Chude often invites guests to discuss family experiences, difficult decisions, relationships, grief and the challenges they have encountered.

The programme has featured personalities including Kate Henshaw, Sisi Yemmie and South African entrepreneur Vusi Thembekwayo.

In 2026, guests included singer Segun Johnson, actress Omowunmi Dada and entrepreneur Ehi Ogbebor. The programme is part of the wider WithChude media platform, which also produces documentaries and other storytelling content.

5. Is This Seat Taken?

Is This Seat Taken? is hosted by Chinasa Anukam, a Nigerian comedian, writer and actress who interviews celebrities and creatives through an unusual dating-style format.

Instead of a conventional studio interview, Chinasa meets her guests in relaxed settings where they discuss their lives, work, relationships and personal experiences. The show has featured entertainers including Falz, Adekunle Gold, L.A.X, Black Sherif and British rapper Giggs.

In 2025, Chinasa also interviewed Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai, discussing her advocacy for girls’ education and her connection to Nigeria. The show is available on YouTube and audio podcast platforms

6. Curiosity Made Me Ask

Comedian Adebayo Ridwan Abidemi, popularly known as Isbae U, has found a way to make celebrity interviews feel like comedy performances. His show, Curiosity Made Me Ask, features guests responding to sarcastic questions, playful insults and deliberately awkward situations.

Unlike conventional interviewers who try to make guests comfortable, Isbae U often does the opposite, using their reactions as part of the entertainment. The programme has featured Pete Edochie, Kate Henshaw, Bovi, Bobrisky, Yemi Solade and Ramsey Nouah.

Its September 2026 interview with former President Olusegun Obasanjo became one of its most widely discussed episodes, surpassing two million YouTube views within days.

The show’s appeal lies in its unpredictability. Even familiar celebrities can find themselves answering questions they would rarely encounter elsewhere.

7. Is This a Safe Space?

Hosted by Osasbaby, Is This a Safe Space? focuses on the experiences of young Nigerians navigating adulthood. The conversations cover relationships, careers, friendships, personal growth and the pressures that come with building a life in one’s twenties. Unlike shows that rely heavily on celebrity appearances, Osasbaby also invites creators and professionals whose experiences reflect everyday challenges.

In 2026, guests included content creator Darkskinned Ella, who discussed her criticism of Lagos transportation problems, and influencer Iremide, who spoke about balancing content creation with law school.

Other episodes explored drug addiction, women’s health, teenage pregnancy and experiences with body shaming. The podcast’s willingness to explore personal experiences makes it particularly interesting to listeners who prefer discussions beyond celebrity gossip.

8. MENtality with Ebuka

For years, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu has been the person asking questions on television, whether interviewing Big Brother Naija housemates or hosting entertainment programmes. In October 2025, he brought that experience into podcasting with MENtality with Ebuka, a show examining the expectations, pressures and experiences of Nigerian men.

Co-hosted by singer, actor and entrepreneur Banky Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, the podcast explores masculinity, marriage, money, fatherhood, emotional vulnerability and relationships.

Its first episode featured Seun Kuti and Noble Igwe discussing money and the pressure on Nigerian men to achieve financial success. The second season, which premiered in May 2026, expanded these conversations with guests including Aproko Doctor, Tobi Bakre, M.I Abaga, Tunde Onakoya, Toke Makinwa and Toolz.

The July 31 episode brought members of the podcast’s community together for a live discussion about materialism, financial pressure and decisions men make in pursuit of success. The podcast is a collaboration involving She Tank Studios and Empire Mates Entertainment (EME), with episodes available on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

9. Toke Moments Toke Makinwa wants to be the new taboo conversations whisperer

Toke Makinwa was discussing relationships and everyday experiences on digital platforms long before podcasting became fashionable in Nigeria.

Her Toke Moments brand began as a YouTube vlog series in 2012 before expanding into podcasting. The current podcast features conversations about dating, marriage, career decisions, friendships, personal growth and the experiences of women navigating public and private life.

Its 2026 guests included Mo Abudu, Erica Nlewedim, Mercy Eke, Folagade Banks and content creator Hauwa. In an August episode, Mo Abudu discussed leaving her corporate career to build EbonyLife, while a September conversation with Folagade Banks explored the business behind his popular Mama Deola character.

The podcast has also featured episodes examining motherhood, entrepreneurship and the difficulties of maintaining relationships while building a career.

10. Menisms

The Menisms podcast explores masculinity, relationships and the everyday experiences of men, particularly the expectations and pressures that come with being a man in contemporary society.

Hosted by Olumurewa and Isioma Okey-Nwosu, who joined in January 2026 following Michael’s departure, the podcast discusses dating, marriage, emotional vulnerability, friendships and other issues affecting young Nigerian men.

Although its conversations are largely told from men’s perspectives, the show also features female guests, bringing different opinions to discussions about relationships and societal expectations.

The podcast entered its sixth season in January 2026 with its 111th episode. In October, the hosts explored loneliness among men, examining how financial pressures, social comparisons and difficulties maintaining friendships affect their lives.

Through these conversations, Menisms examines familiar assumptions about masculinity and encourages more open discussions about subjects men often struggle to address.
