How much XRP would an investor need to hold to build a $1 million portfolio by 2028? Crypto commentator Good Evening Crypto examined that question in a tweet, using XRP’s rich list, wallet distribution, and several potential price levels to calculate the holdings required at different valuations.
The creator also compared XRP’s long period below its previous all-time high with Tesla’s historical price performance and presented a bullish scenario for XRP if it breaks above $3.65.
Good Evening Crypto focused on XRP’s extended period below its $3.65 all-time high and compared that price history with Tesla. The creator noted that Tesla spent several years below its previous high before its price climbed from about $19 to more than $430 over the following two years.
The video suggested XRP could experience a similar move if it breaks above $3.65 with strong momentum. Good Evening Crypto mentioned short-term projections between $5 and $8 but also presented substantially higher targets based on the Tesla comparison. The creator said XRP could potentially deliver a 40x or 50x move within two and a half years under a similar scenario.

Good Evening Crypto then examined XRP wallet balances and the amounts required to reach different positions on the rich list. The creator said approximately 2,094 XRP puts a wallet in the top 10%, while about 7,300 XRP reaches the top 5%. The video placed the top 4% at around 10,000 XRP and the top 2% at roughly 21,500 XRP.
According to the video, investors need about 44,000 XRP to reach the top 1%. Holding 80,000 XRP in a wallet puts you in the top 0.5%, while 150,000 XRP puts you in the top 0.2%. Good Evening Crypto also said investors with more than 3.8 million XRP occupy the top 0.01%, with 819 wallets exceeding that balance.
The creator said the XRP Ledger has about 8 million funded wallets, while roughly 6 million hold fewer than 100 XRP. Good Evening Crypto identified Ripple, Upbit, Coinbase, Binance, Chris Larsen, and BitThumb among the largest holders discussed in the video.
Good Evening Crypto used several XRP prices to calculate the tokens an investor would need to reach $1 million. At $1.56, the creator calculated about 660,000 XRP. At $3, the figure falls to 300,000 XRP, while at $5 it drops to 200,000 XRP.
The calculation drops further at higher prices. An XRP price of $8 would require 125,000 XRP, while $50 XRP would require 20,000 XRP. At $100, an investor would need 10,000 XRP to reach a $1 million portfolio.
The video also cited a Standard Chartered projection of $12.60 XRP and referenced Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan, who has discussed an $8 bull-case scenario for XRP in 2026.

Good Evening Crypto also examined XRP liquidity on exchanges. The creator estimated that about $3 billion worth of XRP currently sits in liquid exchange balances, while other XRP remains in escrow or private custody wallets.
The video suggested that demand from tokenized assets, ETFs, and potential XRP Ledger use cases could affect available exchange liquidity. Good Evening Crypto also presented a scenario in which XRP could exceed $60 by 2028 if its price follows a pattern similar to Tesla’s historical advance.
At a $60 XRP price, an investor would need 16,667 XRP to reach a $1 million portfolio based on the simple calculation of price multiplied by holdings.
