XRP price is trading around $1.40 following a turbulent week for crypto. Bitcoin fell toward $75,000 earlier in the week before recovering above $80,000 and briefly pushing past $81,500. XRP joined the rebound, but its recovery has already encountered selling pressure.
The broader market has also been digesting uncertainty surrounding the CLARITY Act and developments involving the CFTC. Those regulatory stories have added to the debate over crypto’s outlook, although neither can be isolated as the cause of XRP’s latest price movements.
For XRP traders, the immediate question is whether the token can stabilize around $1.40 and make another attempt at $1.45–$1.50, or whether its recent rebound is beginning to lose strength.
Last Week’s XRP Price Prediction Was Right on Point
In our previous XRP weekly outlook, we identified the following as the base case:
Base Case (50%): XRP continues oscillating roughly between $1.33 and $1.48 until one side wins. Buying around $1.41 is buying near the middle of that range rather than at an obvious technical extreme.
That range captured much of XRP’s subsequent trading activity. The token briefly moved outside it, reaching a high of approximately $1.4916 before plunging to $1.2457. However, it later recovered into the projected range and is now trading around $1.38–$1.40.
The forecast was therefore useful in identifying the central trading zone, although the temporary breakdown below $1.33 was a notable exception. The assigned 50% probability was our scenario estimate, not a statistically established probability.
The latest chart shows that the market still has not established a decisive direction. XRP has recovered from its weekly low, but buyers have struggled to sustain the move toward $1.45.
XRP Price Chart: Momentum Is Starting to Weaken
The two-hour XRP/USDT chart shows a volatile sequence of rallies and sell-offs.
XRP initially climbed toward $1.49 before a steep decline took it to approximately $1.2457. Buyers subsequently stepped in, lifting the token back above $1.40 and toward $1.44–$1.45.
However, that recovery has stalled. XRP has retreated to approximately $1.3803 on the supplied chart, down nearly 3% over the preceding 24 hours.

The rejection around $1.44–$1.45 is particularly important because it shows that sellers remain active before the market can revisit its previous high.
The technical indicators also point to deteriorating short-term momentum:
- RSI: The six-period RSI has dropped to approximately 23.5, indicating oversold conditions on the two-hour chart. The 12-period RSI is around 43.9, while the 24-period reading remains near 51.4. This combination shows that immediate selling pressure has intensified, even though the longer short-term momentum reading is still relatively neutral. An oversold RSI can precede a rebound, but it is not a buy signal on its own.
- MACD: The MACD histogram has turned negative at approximately -0.0156, with the MACD line below its signal line. The latest red histogram bars are expanding, indicating that bearish momentum is building following the rejection near $1.45.
- CCI: The Commodity Channel Index has fallen to approximately -136. A reading below -100 indicates unusually weak momentum relative to the recent trading range. Like the RSI, it points to an overstretched short-term move but does not establish that a bottom has formed.
Taken together, the indicators favor caution in the immediate term. XRP could stage a relief bounce from oversold conditions, but buyers would need to reclaim resistance to demonstrate that the recovery is back on track.
The chart’s most relevant price zones are:
Level
XRP Price zone
Immediate resistance
$1.40–$1.42
Major resistance
$1.44–$1.45
Breakout resistance
$1.48–$1.49
Immediate support
$1.36–$1.38
Major support
$1.33
Deeper support
$1.25–$1.26
A recovery above $1.45 would improve the short-term picture, while a sustained break above $1.49 would provide stronger evidence that buyers have regained control.
Conversely, losing $1.36 could expose $1.33. A decisive breakdown below that level would increase the risk of another move toward $1.25.
XRP News That Could Affect Price
Beyond the technical chart, several developments could influence XRP sentiment in the coming weeks.
First, reports of substantial whale buying could indicate renewed interest from large holders. According to the figures provided, large investors purchased approximately 1.54 billion XRP, worth around $2.2 billion, from exchanges during a four-day period ending September 19.
If confirmed, withdrawals of that magnitude could reduce immediately available exchange balances. However, exchange outflows do not automatically establish that every transaction represents a new purchase, and lower balances do not guarantee higher prices.
The reported buying also coincides with a potential inverse head-and-shoulders formation on XRP’s daily chart. That pattern would require confirmation through a breakout above its neckline. The cited $1.55 resistance is therefore a level to monitor rather than an established upside target. The supplied two-hour chart alone cannot confirm the daily pattern.
Second, Ripple’s upcoming Swell 2026 conference could bring XRP’s institutional use cases back into focus.
The event is scheduled for October 27–29 in New York. According to the supplied conference details, it will combine Ripple’s institutional and developer summits, with more than 100 speakers and participation from organizations including CME Group, Barclays and Coinbase.
The agenda covers tokenization, the first year of spot XRP ETFs, bank-grade stablecoins and AI-powered payments.
Announcements or partnerships emerging from the event could influence market sentiment. However, increased activity across Ripple’s ecosystem does not necessarily translate into additional demand for XRP itself.
Third, U.S. crypto regulation remains an important source of uncertainty.
Ripple reportedly contributed $25 million to the crypto-focused political action committee Fairshake in late 2025, while the group was reported to have accumulated approximately $193 million ahead of the November 3, 2026 midterm elections.
The stalled CLARITY Act is another issue to monitor. Its progress could influence expectations for the regulatory treatment of digital assets, although a procedural setback does not mean the legislation is permanently defeated.
XRP’s market response will depend on actual legislative developments, regulatory decisions and investor interpretation. Neither election results nor future regulatory outcomes can be assumed in advance.

XRP Price Forecast for This Week
XRP price begins the new week near the middle of its broader trading range, but its latest two-hour indicators show that sellers have gained the upper hand in the immediate term.
The $1.36–$1.38 area is the first test. Holding it could allow oversold conditions to produce another rebound, while a breakdown would put $1.33 back in focus.
Here are three scenarios for the week ahead:
Scenario
Expected XRP price range
What would need to happen
Bullish
$1.45–$1.55
XRP reclaims $1.42, breaks through $1.45 and clears the $1.48–$1.49 resistance area. A confirmed breakout could bring $1.55 into view.
Base case
$1.33–$1.48
XRP holds major support but continues trading sideways as buyers and sellers struggle to establish control.
Bearish
$1.25–$1.33
XRP loses $1.36 and then breaks below $1.33, opening the door to a retest of the recent low near $1.25.
All in all, our base case remains a volatile trading range between $1.33 and $1.48.
