What Is The Hedera Council Model?
The Hedera Council is a governing body that operates network nodes, manages the HBAR treasury, and sets the platform's technical direction.
As of early 2026, the council includes up to 34 members across 11 industries, with each member serving a maximum of two consecutive three-year terms, except for Swirlds, which holds a permanent seat.
