Ripple and Robinhood Expand RLUSD Across Retail and Institutional Markets
Under the agreement, Ripple USD (RLUSD) will become a key stablecoin across Robinhood’s expanding digital asset ecosystem. The stablecoin already operates on Robinhood Chain and Bitstamp by Robinhood, supporting transactions across both platforms.
Additionally, Robinhood plans to introduce RLUSD within its trading application later this year, expanding access for retail customers. The company will also leverage RLUSD on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) to support institutional settlement through Bitstamp.
This integration will extend RLUSD’s role beyond cryptocurrency trading, allowing institutions to use the stablecoin for settlement activities. Ripple President Monica Long highlighted the partnership’s broad scope, covering both customer services and internal financial operations.
“What makes our partnership with Robinhood so exciting is the breadth of what we’re building together,” Long stated.
The executive also emphasized growing institutional demand for integrated financial services connecting digital assets with established business operations.
Ripple Prime Strengthens Robinhood’s Institutional Trading and Financing Services
Beyond stablecoin integration, the partnership will expand institutional trading capabilities through Ripple Prime and Bitstamp by Robinhood. Ripple Prime already provides Bitstamp with lending and margin financing services covering approximately 20 digital assets.
Institutional clients using Ripple Prime can also access spot cryptocurrency trading through Bitstamp, strengthening liquidity and market access. Furthermore, the companies plan to introduce perpetual futures trading support on Bitstamp through Ripple Prime later this year.
Robinhood will integrate Ripple Treasury into its financial operations, supporting cash management, liquidity forecasting, payments, and risk management. The platform will also help automate intercompany netting and coordinate financial activities across Robinhood’s global business operations.
Meanwhile, Robinhood Crypto and International executive Johann Kerbrat emphasized the importance of practical stablecoin applications across financial markets. “Utility is what moves stablecoins forward,” Kerbrat stated, highlighting the partnership’s settlement, treasury, and institutional financing services.
RLUSD Market Growth Supports Ripple and Robinhood Partnership
The agreement comes as global stablecoin supply exceeds $300 billion, reflecting expanding adoption across cryptocurrency and financial markets. RLUSD has surpassed $2.4 billion in market capitalization since launching in December 2024, strengthening its presence within the sector.
Meanwhile, Robinhood serves 28.6 million funded customers, providing Ripple with access to a substantial retail and institutional financial ecosystem. The partnership connects Ripple’s stablecoin infrastructure with Robinhood’s customer network, supporting broader RLUSD adoption across digital asset services.
The partnership strengthens Ripple’s relationship with Robinhood through RLUSD integration, institutional financing, and global treasury management services. Both companies plan additional integrations across their platforms, expanding blockchain infrastructure use within retail and institutional finance.
