Nasdaq-listed Hyperliquid Strategies ($PURR) has more than doubled its $HYPE token treasury, closing its fiscal year ended June 30 with 29.3 million tokens valued at roughly $1.9 billion. The results, released Thursday, sent PURR shares up as much as 18% in the session.
A Treasury Built on Equity Capital
The digital asset treasury firm ended June with 29.3 million HYPE tokens, up from an initial 12.5 million, after raising $647 million through its committed equity facility.Shares were issued at an average price of $8.70 each.Total assets reached $2.06 billion, including $149.9 million in cash and cash-like instruments and $1.904 billion in HYPE based on the token's June 30 price of $65.04.
The company reported $305.5 million in annual net income and no debt.Hyperliquid Strategies recorded $709.9 million in net unrealized HYPE gains, partly offset by a $169.2 million one-time loss tied to tokens contributed at the business combination and $183.5 million in deferred tax expense.
The company has since deployed $773.4 million to acquire about 16.5 million additional HYPE at an average cost of $46.77 and spent $27.8 million repurchasing PURR shares, leaving $132.6 million in cash as of Aug. 19.
Staking, Validators, and the Road Ahead
Substantially all of the company's HYPE tokens are staked and generating income.During the 12 months ended June 30, the company recorded $9.5 million in staking revenue and validator commissions. The company described its co-operated validator as Hyperliquid's third-largest when excluding wallets connected to the Hyper Foundation.
HYPE gained about 77% in the quarter ended June 30 while the broader digital asset market fell roughly 13%. Hyperliquid's share of global perpetual futures volume reached about 9.4%, while its decentralized perpetuals open-interest share stood near 63% as of Aug. 23.
"This was the year we built the platform," CEO David Schamis said.Stockholders' equity of approximately $1.9 billion was up over 150% from the prior quarter, driven by both the appreciation of HYPE and net capital raised from issuing equity.
