“I’m Still Very, Very Bullish”: Charles Hoskinson Predicts Bitcoin Will Hit $250,000 in 24 Months

Cardano (ADA) founder Charles Hoskinson has predicted that Bitcoin (BTC) will reach $250,000 within 24 months, maintaining a bullish outlook despite ongoing questions about cryptocurrency adoption and market volatility.

Speaking during a fireside chat with Ana Tutova, founder of AI Crypto Minds, at TOKEN2049 in Singapore, Hoskinson said he expects the crypto asset to climb substantially over the coming two years. He also argued that artificial intelligence could create new demand for cryptocurrencies as autonomous agents increasingly conduct economic activity.

“Yeah, I’m still very very bullish. You know, the next 24 months that Bitcoin will reach $250,000,” Hoskinson stated.

His forecast comes as Bitcoin faces questions about its near-term direction, with traders watching key price levels for signs of a recovery or a deeper correction.

Beyond Bitcoin’s price outlook, Hoskinson pointed to the growing relationship between artificial intelligence and blockchain technology as a potential source of demand across the crypto market. He argued that AI agents will need digital assets to transact, pay for services and participate in online marketplaces. Cryptocurrencies, particularly stablecoins, could provide the financial infrastructure for these activities.

“For agents to have agency and for agents to have economic identity has to be crypto,” he said.

Hoskinson believes AI-driven commerce could expand the practical uses of blockchain networks beyond speculative trading. He also suggested that combining crypto with AI could significantly increase transaction volumes across several digital assets.

“If we can get AI into crypto in just the right way, uh it’ll 10x or 100x the volume of a lot of these cryptocurrencies, and it’s going to be very good for our prices,” he said.

The Cardano founder added that the industry needs to prioritize real-world applications rather than relying primarily on price speculation.

“We have to move beyond speculation to utility,” he stated, identifying AI and real-world asset tokenization as areas with potential to deliver more practical blockchain use cases.

Despite his optimism, Hoskinson acknowledged that cryptocurrencies have yet to become part of everyday life for most consumers. He said the industry has made considerable progress in user numbers and market value, but the experience of using digital assets remains too complicated for widespread adoption.

He also highlighted privacy as a barrier to institutional adoption, noting that publicly visible transactions can expose sensitive financial information. Hoskinson expects the next stage of blockchain development to focus more heavily on usability, identity, privacy and interoperability. He believes improvements in these areas could help bring cryptocurrency into mainstream financial activity before the end of the decade.

Meanwhile, market indicators offer mixed signals about Bitcoin’s near-term trajectory. Santiment reported Tuesday that Bitcoin had lost approximately 30,000 non-empty wallets since October 16, bringing the total to around 59.95 million. The analytics platform suggested that smaller holders may be exiting after an extended period of stagnant price action, potentially creating conditions for a local market bottom.

The firm further identified $80,000 as a key level, with a recovery above roughly $82,500 strengthening its potential bottom scenario.

“Retail capitulation has historically been more constructive for price than a sudden flood of new buyers chasing rallies. Crypto typically moves opposite crowd expectations at emotional extremes, so shrinking participation while BTC struggles near $80K strengthens the case that a local bottom may be forming shortly.” It wrote.

CryptoQuant analyst ‘Trader Gemini’ also identified Bitcoin’s Trader Realized Price, then in the mid-$70,000 range, as a level to watch if prices fall. The metric reflects the average acquisition price of Bitcoin last moved between one and three months earlier. However, the analyst cautioned that the level is not a guaranteed floor, although it has historically acted as support during some bullish periods.

At press time, Bitcoin was trading at $80,550, reflecting a 4.14% surge in the past 24 hours.
