IceCreamSwap says Core is not a "failed project"

IceCreamSwap, the decentralized exchange (DEX) that launched alongside Core chain, has pushed back on claims that Core DAO is a failed project. The comments from @icecream_swap come as the $CORE token of @Coredao_Org trades roughly 95% below earlier levels, leading many market participants to write off the network.

According to the DEX, what set Core chain apart was not its utility, native asset or consensus mechanism. It argues the community was the differentiator, and says it is backing that community to make $CORE strong again.

How far $CORE has fallen

The price decline is well documented. CryptoRank data shows an all-time high of $6.67 on Feb. 8, 2023, with the token more than 99% below that level at the time of its snapshot. Other trackers report slightly different peaks, with Bybit citing a launch-day high of around $6.14. Figures vary by data provider, but all show the token trading at a small fraction of its early price.

The token has also faced sharp single-day losses. According to a CB Insights news summary, $CORE fell about 50% in 24 hours in March 2026 after large sell orders triggered a liquidation cascade on Colend, a lending protocol in the Core ecosystem. Core DAO said at the time that the protocol worked as designed and that the move was driven by market dynamics rather than a technical failure.

Core DAO describes itself as a decentralized organization developing the Satoshi Plus ecosystem, a Bitcoin-aligned smart contract network, according to CB Insights.

IceCreamSwap's role on Core

IceCreamSwap is a multichain DeFi platform offering swaps, liquidity, farming, staking, bridging and a launchpad. Its documentation lists support for Core among several networks. Its CertiK Skynet profile shows the project is live on CoreDAO and Bitgert, with all-time DEX trading volume of about $58.5 million.

The DEX also introduced a KYC delegator system on Core chain to combat scams, as described in an earlier post from the IceCreamSwap team. That history gives the project a long-standing stake in the chain's ecosystem.

Whether community support can translate into a recovery for $CORE remains unclear. Token prices depend on liquidity, trading activity and broader market conditions, and no single group of holders or builders can guarantee a rebound. For now, IceCreamSwap is framing Core's value around its users rather than its price chart.
