The XRP Ledger has appeared alongside several major blockchain networks in the International Monetary Fund’s latest research on tokenization. Crypto researcher SMQKE highlighted the report, pointing specifically to XRP and XLM as networks featured in the IMF’s analysis of tokenized assets.
SMQKE shared an image from the IMF’s October 2026 report and wrote, “OCTOBER 2026: IMF TOKENIZATION REPORT HIGHLIGHTS XRP AND XLM AS LEADING BLOCKCHAIN NETWORKS Documented.”
The report examines how tokenization could change financial markets as institutions move financial assets and liabilities onto distributed programmable ledgers.
XRP Ledger Appears In IMF Tokenization Data
The IMF report includes a figure titled “Layers of Concentration in Tokenized Market Infrastructure.” The document compares tokenized value across several blockchain networks, such as BNB Chain, Solana, Stellar, and the XRP Ledger.
Including XRP Ledger places it among the networks that the IMF uses to examine the current distribution of tokenized assets.
The report also explains that tokenized assets currently remain concentrated across a small number of blockchain networks and examines the factors that could determine whether tokenization achieves broader adoption.
IMF Identifies Key Requirements For Growth
The IMF identifies legal certainty, regulatory clarity, interoperability, and access to suitable settlement assets as important requirements for the development of tokenized markets.
The report also examines the benefits that blockchain infrastructure can provide, including reduced reconciliation requirements, greater transparency, and more automated financial processing.
The IMF also examines the risks that could increase as tokenized markets expand. Greater interconnectedness between networks and financial institutions could increase exposure to operational, liquidity, and infrastructure risks.
The report therefore calls for stronger monitoring and appropriate safeguards as tokenized markets develop.
SMQKE Points To XRP And XLM
SMQKE’s post focuses on XRP and XLM within the IMF’s tokenization research. The researcher presented the report as institutional documentation of the networks’ position within the developing tokenization sector.
CryptoSensei responded to the post, writing, “Interesting to see $XRP and XLM showing up prominently in the tokenization conversation. The RWA market is getting harder to ignore.”
Macro Bombastic also commented, “IMF recognizing XRP and XLM is lowkey huge for tokenization tbh.”
The IMF’s research also references tokenized financial activity involving the XRP Ledger and Stellar. Its analysis examines how different blockchain networks and platforms currently support tokenized assets and how greater interoperability could support further market development.
For XRP supporters, SMQKE’s post highlights the XRP Ledger’s inclusion in an IMF analysis of an expanding financial market. The report places XRP Ledger within a broader group of blockchain networks that the IMF is examining as tokenization develops.
