Real-world asset (RWA) perpetuals on Injective (@injective) $INJ have surpassed $1.1 billion in year-to-date trading volume. The market generated more than $230 million over the past month. Trading spans equities, foreign exchange, commodities, indices and pre-IPO markets, according to Injective.
RWA perpetuals are derivatives that give traders price exposure to traditional assets without holding them. Real-world assets trade through perpetual futures, which give traders price exposure without holding the asset. The contracts have no fixed expiration date, which separates them from standard futures in traditional finance.
It is worth noting that the headline numbers come from the network itself. The $1.1 billion volume figure is Injective's own number, and it has not been independently audited in the sources reviewed for this article.
The breadth of listings has grown alongside volume. Nearly 47% of Injective's active perpetual markets are tied to real-world assets, with 135 markets spanning equities, FX, commodities, indices and pre-IPO assets.Among pre-IPO markets, SpaceX recorded $6.6 million in volume, while Robinhood reached $5.2 million.
How the product developed
Injective's RWA perpetuals are built on its iAssets framework. According to Messari research, iAssets are programmable instruments that track the value of traditional assets.Pre-IPO perpetual markets launched on October 1, 2025, bringing exposure to private companies such as OpenAI, SpaceX and Anthropic onchain.
The contracts do not involve ownership of the underlying shares. In a 2025 Forbes report, Injective relied on oracle price feeds that pull real-time stock prices from traditional markets.Injective does not buy or hold the underlying shares behind the scenes.
Volume has also been built over time. Messari reported that cumulative RWA perpetual volume reached $1.68 billion as of Aug. 20, 2025, and $6 billion in cumulative volume as of November 2, 2025. The 2026 year-to-date figure is a separate calendar-year measure and is not directly comparable with those cumulative totals.
On the token side, price action has been mixed. An INJ rally to $9.4 after Injective officials visited the White House proved short-lived, and the token fell to a low of $8.3. Leverage on these products also carries risk. One analysis notes that platforms offering 25x to 100x leverage on volatile instruments create outsized loss potential.
